Dr Menelas Nkeshimana, Head of Workforce Development at Rwanda Health, noted this Friday, that Rwanda’s health sector has successfully recovered from the devastating effects of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and continues to make significant progress. He made the remarks as he joined CHUK Staff in commemorating the 32nd anniversary of more than 80 Staff members, patients, caregivers, and other individuals who sought refuge at the then CHK but were tragically killed during the Genocide, including by some health professionals.

Speaking at the event, CHUK Director General, Dr Mpunga, urged staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity. He emphasized the importance of learning from history and condemned the actions of some former health workers who abandoned their professional responsibilities and participated in the Genocide against the Tutsi, betraying those who had trusted them with their lives.
