~ The illusion of safety ~
So many of us are afraid of letting go. Not because we truly want to stay where we are, but because the unknown feels terrifying. It can feel like drowning. Like losing control. Like not knowing where life is taking us.
So we hold on.
To relationships that slowly drain us. To work that no longer fits. To old identities, beliefs, or ways of coping.
Not because they are healthy.
But because they are familiar.
One of the biggest illusions is believing that what feels familiar is the same as what is safe.
It isn't.
The mind is incredibly good at convincing us to stay where we are. It creates endless stories about why now isn't the right time, why the unknown is too risky, or why we should hold on just a little longer.
It's not about becoming fearless before letting go. It's about creating enough inner safety to recognize what no longer belongs to you, and enough self-respect to choose differently.
Because beyond the illusion of safety isn't emptiness.
More often than not, it's where you slowly come home to yourself.
And from that place, you naturally begin to open yourself to the love, joy, peace, and beauty that were waiting for you all along. 🧡
