𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚: Paused Temporarily

With sadness and unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you that LYC is discontinuing all yoga classes for the foreseeable future.⁣

Lund Yoga Community’s purpose has been to make yoga accessible for everyone. Through practicing our values, we created a community full of curious individuals who all share a common intention to practice yoga. ⁣

From the very first class on September 2, 2018 to now, LYC is incredibly grateful for all those who have shown up and supported the community, including the support from . Without all of you, none of this would have been possible so thank you!⁣

Please follow and reach out to any local teachers on social media in the community to inquire about future yoga activities. There will no longer be any yoga activities that are associated with Lund Yoga Community.⁣

Final Regards,⁣
Drew Teller⁣

Hi LYC Yogis,

It has been a while! We hope you are all doing well and are staying healthy.

While we are still enduring the coronavirus we will continue to cancel our classes through April. We still want to err on the side of caution and help keep our community healthy.

I have been sick for a bit and resting at home. All is manageable, so I consider myself to be lucky.
The impacts on the respiratory system are serious. I am fine, but for anyone with any underlying health condition it is easy to see how quickly this breathless feeling can become serious.
For those who are healthy, please reach out to those around you who might be at a greater risk. Call your family, check in on your grandparents, if you know of someone who might be at a greater risk, call them to see how they are doing.

While we wait out the coronavirus and once I have recovered we will start to post some yoga sequences online.

Of course if the situation resumes itself quickly we will get back to our yoga classes asap.

Until then, enjoy the sunshine and take good care of yourself and those around you. We have this little space in time to slow down and enjoy our famlies and friends (with some distance😘) and to appreciate a slower pace of life. So let's recogonize this moment and embrace any positives that come from this time.

Updates will be available on our website www.lundyogacommunity.com and on IG and FB .

In the meantime if you have any questions please contact Erin directly at [email protected]

Take care❤

Hi LYC Yogis,

We have decided to take some extra preventative actions at LYC in light of recent developments of the coronavirus in Lund.

We have decided to cancel all classes for the month of March. During this month we will observe the development of the coronavirus and inform you all when we will start to hold classes again.

Updates will be available on our website www.lundyogacommunity.com and on IG and FB .

We understand that some may feel our decision is overly cautious but we are in agreement that it is best to proceed with caution until more information is available.

We want to be a part of the solution that helps to protect people who are more vulnerable to the virus.

In the meantime if you have any questions please contact Erin directly at [email protected]

Thank you for understanding.

~Erin

Coronavirus Information:

www.lundyogacommunity.com/coronavirus

As a part of the Lund community and the Lund University community we are following information provided by Lund University to help reduce LYC members' risk of coming in contact with the coronavirus.

It is recommended that if you have "recently visited risk areas* as well as parts of the world that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD) has advised against travelling to due to the coronavirus you are to work/study from home for a two-week period after arriving back in Sweden" (Lund University).

Lund Yoga Community asks that we all follow these guidelines and refrain from participating in yoga classes for a minimum of 2 weeks after returning to Sweden from identified risk areas below.

*The risk areas at present are China, Iran, South Korea and the following regions of Italy: Lombardy, Piemonte, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto.

These areas will be updated as new information becomes available.

Thank you❤

Seated Prayer Twist or Revolved Chair Pose is a deep twisting position that improves spine mobility, aids in digestion, and challenges us to find our breath while in a constricting position. It's all about learning to breath when you are feeling uncomfortable or physically stressed - this is incredibly transferable to our daily life.

I often tell my students, yoga is like brushing your teeth. Take a few minutes each day to do a few sun salutations, focused breathing (pranayama), quiet sitting (meditation), or time to reflect on the delightful points of your day and appreciate the people who share in those delights with you.

Yoga doesn't have to be fancy, you don't need any special clothing to practice, you don't need special beads or an expensive mat. You just need to carve out a few minutes each day, maybe reach for your toes and breath.

Yoga is accesdible for all.

Pigeon Posture: The (Screaming) King of Hip Openers.

Pigeon posture is one of those postures we sometimes have a love hate relationship with. It is a hip opener, and sometimes our hips are pretty happy to stay closed, hence the screaming. But with some patience, time, support from a block or rolled up mat, our hips can be coaxed to let go a little bit at a time and the pigeon posture can become enjoyable.
Pigeon posture is a great posture for injury prevention for athletes and a helpful posture to counteract all of the sitting and one directional movement of walking.
