Mercury retrograde is not only about technical glitches, misunderstandings and delays of all sorts.
It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the themes of the sign it’s moving through.

Mercury is retrograde in Cancer until 23 July and might bring up some emotional memories.

Cancer has been one of the archetypes I’ve learned the most from.

With Cancer on my Descendant and Saturn in Cancer, learning to feel and express my emotions hasn’t always come naturally. It’s been a slow unfolding rather than a lesson I’ve ever „finished.“

That’s one of the reasons I love moving through the seasons of the zodiac.

They invite me to consciously reconnect with the energy that’s in focus.

This Cancer season, I’m paying a little more attention on not trying to fix or change what I feel.

Simply making space for it is often enough.
I think coming home to myself begins with being willing to feel what is already here.

Whether you have planets or angles in Cancer or not, this archetype belongs to all of us. We all carry it inside of us, and the feeling part is only one aspect of this beautiful archetype.

Week six became my fourth week with printing with the lupine leaves.
It still amazes me how varied and different the finished pieces are.
I probably could go on for weeks trying all sorts of different colour combinations 😅

Cancer is often associated with emotions.

But the Cancer energy reflects something even more fundamental.

It’s the part of us that longs to belong.
The part that seeks safety, home, and connection, and that is able to create all of that for others.
The part that reminds us to feel before we explain.

Whether you have planets in Cancer or not, this archetype lives within all of us.

This season, I’m curious to explore where Cancer is asking me to soften, to listen, and to come home to myself.

Week five was another week with the glorious lupine leaves.
I changed to my bigger gel plates, larger size and different format.
It was quite a different feeling to start off with.
The bigger plates require more consideration of the design, where to place the leaves and how to layer.
I overworked quite a few pieces by adding too many layers and needed to remind me of „less is more“ again and again.

I usually get bored more quickly when doing the same thing for a while, so printing with just this plant for three weeks now is a quite a new experience.

And guess what, we are doing another week!

100dayproject

I have hardly spent time in my studio lately. Immersing myself back in the world of astrology was my creative outlet, although quite a cerebral one.
I kept thinking I will get back to it. But I didn’t. There was no impulse to get going again, no project that really excited me. Though the Ta**us energy we are in now reminded me of how much I love making art and that I actually miss it.
And then I remembered the 100 day project I did two years ago. My Capricornian side loves a good challenge so I decided that’s exactly what I’m going to do! 100 days of print & collage.
I prepped yesterday for the first week and will start today, May 18th. My dear friend is on board too. Let’s roll!

The best time is always now. 😎
