Same date. Same timing. 10 years later.
Today, from my kitchen, I watched another family’s final send-off. When the song 《父亲》 started playing, my heart sank. The memories from 10 years ago came rushing back.
It was during Chinese New Year. Our family knew nothing about funeral arrangements. We were lost, overwhelmed, and grieving. I will always be grateful to the funeral team who guided us patiently and made everything smooth during one of the hardest times in our lives.
Being a Funeral Director is never easy. It’s not just about arrangements and procedures — it’s about holding space for families in shock, managing emotions, different opinions, and unspoken pain. It requires patience, strength, and heart.
Looking back, I truly believe meeting a kind FD back then planted a seed in me. What we received during our darkest moment, I now carry forward to other families.
10 years ago, I was the daughter crying while trying to stay strong.
Today, I stand as a Funeral Director — not by coincidence, but by purpose.
Papa, I think you would be surprised.
Your girl didn’t just grow up. She found her calling. 🤍
