For Phoebe Hoh (Nurse Manager, Ward C4, JCH), nursing has never been just a profession — it has always been a calling.

More than three decades after beginning her nursing journey, she still considers it the best decision she has ever made.

While the journey has not always been easy, Phoebe believes that nursing requires determination, consistency and an unwavering commitment to caring for others.

One of the moments she treasures most is seeing a smile from a person living with dementia. Though often fleeting, those precious moments of connection remind her of the profound impact compassion can have in a patient's life.

Today, as a Nurse Manager, Phoebe continues to inspire those around her by leading with empathy and purpose, encouraging aspiring nurses to follow the calling in their hearts and discover the meaning that nursing can bring.

For her dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and inspiring generations of nurses, Phoebe is one of JurongHealth Campus' Nurses' Merit Award recipients this year.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Since August 2025, CDE's shelter residents have been volunteering at Jurong Community Hospital's Dementia Ward.
From serving meals and making beds to watching over patients at risk of falls, they have been supporting healthcare staff in patient care. They have also been engaging patient through daily activities, bringing companionship through acts of service.

By June 2026, almost 20 volunteers had contributed more than 700 volunteer hours, making a positive difference through their time, care and commitment. 💙

For Meng Zhiyan (Nurse Clinician, Ward B3, NTFGH), these words are shaped by more than 20 years of nursing, as well as her own journey of adapting to life and work in a new environment.

During her early years in Singapore, Zhiyan had to adjust to a new workplace, culture and way of life. With the encouragement and support other colleagues, she gradually found her footing and built a fulfilling career in nursing.

Today, Zhiyan draws on those experiences to mentor and support new nurses embarking on similar journeys.

We are bringing the latest advances in orthopaedic surgery closer to the community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend for our Public Health Education Series (PHES) forum, where participants gained insights from our healthcare experts on how advances in endoscopic and arthroscopic surgery are transforming the way orthopaedic conditions are treated.

Congratulations to our recipients of this year's Public Sector Transformation Awards!

𝗔𝗱𝗷 𝗔/𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴, Head & Senior Consultant, Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery, received the WOG Service Champion Award in recognition of his work in clinical innovation, advancing medical techniques and building a robust team.

His exceptional leadership has fostered a skilled team and supportive ecosystem for innovative surgeries. This comprehensive approach has not only saved numerous lives but also provided patients with renewed hope and improved quality of life.

Our 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲-𝗡𝗜𝗩 team was awarded the Exemplary Innovation Award for developing Singapore’s first real-time remote monitoring system for non-invasive ventilation in general wards, integrating ventilator data, alarms, and analytics into a digital dashboard.

It enhances patient safety, accelerates clinical response, optimises workforce utilisation, and transforms ward-level respiratory care delivery.

The Public Sector Transformation Awards recognise individuals and teams across the public service for excellence in service delivery, innovation and best practices.

We celebrate the awardees' contributions in advancing care, empowering teams and improving the healthcare experience for those we serve!

By day, NTFGH’s Staff Nurse Mohd Sufian Bin Mohd Jemin works in Ward B10, caring for patients with compassion while staying calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.

We are honoured to be recognised at this year's National Healthcare Innovation & Productivity (HIP) Medals award presentation ceremony!

The 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲-𝗟𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗕𝗚𝗠) 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹 initiative was awarded the Care Redesign Best Practice Medal at this morning's event.

The innovative and digitally enabled model empowers nurses to optimise monitoring based on standardised clinical criteria and a Best Practice Advisory integrated within Electronic Medical Record – eliminating unnecessary steps, enhancing patient comfort, improving care consistency, and enabling nursing time to be directed at higher-value patient care.

Organised annually by the Centre for Healthcare Innovation and supported by the Ministry of Health, Singapore, the National HIP Medals celebrate innovations that transform healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved recognition and for demonstrating how innovation can create more time for what matters most — caring for patients!
