Macquarie University has one of the best chiropractic degree in Sydney, Australia, lead by a team of top tier doctors, and Dr Christopher Burrell is one of them.

Being a student of his for years back in 2010-2014, and to have the opportunity to finally serve him in the clinic after 12 years, under the name Macquarie Chiropractic is a surreal experience! 🥹🙏🏼

I’d like to thank the department of chiropractic at Macquarie University from the bottom of my heart, and thank you for all the teachings, ethics and forward looking mindset you have instilled in all of us in serving the community that we eventually come back to. 🙏🏼

3 signs your neck may be driving your jaw pain;
1) you wake up clenching,
2) you hear clicking sound when you chew,
3) turning your neck changes your jaw tension.

Research suggests posture and TMJ symptoms may be connected, and it showed changes in head posture, cervical spine weight loadings, deep neck muscle endurance, and pain prevalence correlations.

Have you ever wonder where does the clicking and popping sound comes from when a chiropractor adjusted you?

It’s the FACET joints, and we have 25 segments of it across our spine.

So the story of this 30+ yo patient of ours, had been to a hands-on only Chiro clinic that adjusted him for the longest time (10 plus years) and the past 1-2 years, he no longer experience that clicking and popping sound and he thought that his chiropractor’s technique deteriorates or he was getting old and not having enough strength to adjust his back 😅

The truth is shocking when we finally saw his full spine x rays, his lower back DISC joints are almost mostly DEHYDRATED to the point that, nothing on his lower back MOVES (no click/ or pop sound = no pressure being released, because his lower back facet joints do not have much space to even cavitate!).

FACET joints vs DISC joints

It has never been about having the most high end tools/ technologies for spinal care but understanding that hands on adjustment can only treat/adjust your facet joints allows us to understand why you’re still constantly in pain despite your regular Chiro sessions, tells us your problem might be a deep setting joint problems(disc joint) instead of the more superficial joint problems (facet joint).

Health talks allow us to engage with the community in Singapore on the benefits of evidence-based chiropractic care we practice at Macquarie Chiropractic, as well as what set us apart, and showcasing the facilities of our clinic.
