When a treatment promises “foundation-like skin” from an injection, it deserves careful scrutiny.

BB Mesotherapy, often marketed by beauty spas as the “BB Glow Facial”, involves injecting pigmented or tinted formulations into the superficial layers of the skin to create a semi permanent, foundation-like effect.

While some patients may appreciate the immediate cosmetic effect, camouflage is not the same as improving skin biology. More importantly, once pigment is placed within the skin, it is no longer as simple as washing makeup off at the end of the day. Like any procedure that introduces substances into the skin, there are potential risks and complications that patients should understand before making a decision.

Some predictions don’t age well.. Fortunately, tattoo regrets don’t have to be forever, especially when they’re black ink.

Tattoo removal isn’t one-size-fits-all. The success of treatment depends on several factors, including the age and depth of the tattoo, your skin type, the colour of the ink and the experience of the doctor performing it.

Black ink is generally the easiest to remove because it absorbs laser energy more effectively, allowing the pigment to break down into smaller particles that your body can gradually clear away. Other colours tend to be more resistant and may require more treatment sessions.

Every tattoo is different. While complete removal can never be guaranteed, understanding these factors helps set realistic expectations and allows your treatment plan to be tailored to your tattoo.
