Can I lament about insurance forms?

Consultation done. Biopsy done. Surgery done.

Weeks later — the Critical Illness form arrives.

Symptoms. Imaging. Biopsy. Surgery. Histology.

All the same information again.

Plus my favourite: name and IC on every. single. page.

But we already submitted most of this for pre-authorisation!

Can’t we have one common platform, add the final reports, and we’re done?

Insurance companies of Singapore — surely we can streamline this?

Breast cancer care is becoming more sophisticated.
But some of the best things you can do for your health are still very simple.
Move. Sleep. Eat reasonably well. Drink less. Don’t smoke. Be sensible about hormones.
Control what you can — and don’t let fear take over the rest.
What’s one health habit you’re working on right now?

Be informed. Ask questions. Get a second opinion if you need one.
But more information doesn’t always mean more control — sometimes it just gives you more anxiety.
Find a medical team you trust, and let them carry some of the burden.
Your job is not to become your own oncologist. Your job is to heal.
Follow for practical, honest conversations about breast health and cancer.

Sometimes, the hardest part is simply taking the first step.

If you know someone who has been putting off a breast check because she’s afraid, give her a gentle nudge. ❤️

Listen. Support. Help her seek care.

Sometimes, that nudge can save a life.

Most people don’t lack healthcare options.

They lack clarity.

After another community talk on navigating Singapore’s healthcare system, I’m convinced that health literacy is one of the biggest gaps we need to address.

What’s the one thing about healthcare that confuses you most?

Unpopular opinion:
Most people don’t lack time, talent, or ability.

They lack the willingness to be uncomfortable.

I almost quit HYROX halfway.
Not because I was injured.
Not because I physically couldn’t continue.

But because it got hard.
Messy. Painful. Humbling.

And that voice kicked in—
“You’re not ready. You don’t belong here.”

Here’s the part no one likes to hear:
That voice doesn’t go away.

The people you think are “strong”?
They hear it too.

They just don’t obey it.

So no—
you don’t need more motivation.
You need to stop negotiating with yourself.

Most women think they know how to check their breasts.
But in clinic, I see the same pattern again and again —
👉 “I didn’t feel anything before”
👉 “I thought I was checking properly”
The truth?
It’s not that you’re not checking.
No one actually taught you how.

So here it is, simple and practical:
LOOK. MOVE. FEEL.

It takes just a few minutes — but it could make all the difference.
Save this so you don’t forget.
And send it to someone you care about.

I did not choose breast surgery by accident.
One patient in medical school stayed with me—and shaped the work I do until today.
Fear delays care.
My mission is to make that journey less frightening, more humane, and more timely.

Many women delay getting help not because they do not care — but because they have been told the wrong things for years.

These 5 myths are still incredibly common, and they can create either false reassurance or unnecessary fear.

Knowing what is true helps women act earlier, ask better questions, and feel more in control.
