PRESIDENT KIIR MEETS LEADERS OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS: DISCUSS ECONOMIC RECOVERY PROGRAM

Juba, 20th October 2023- President Kiir on Friday met with the Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Baranaba Bak and the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan Dr. James Alic Garang, to deliberate on the current State of the economy.

President Kiir encouraged both Finance Minister and Central Bank Governor to work together to improve and stabilise the country's economy for the wellbeing of citizens.

Minister Bak said they briefed the President on their recent participation at the World Bank Group-IMF conference in Morocco, which centred on building Economic resilience and securing transformational reform in member states.

Governor Alic on his side said while in Morocco, they engaged different stakeholders in advancing the capacity of financial institutions in South Sudan.

The Bank's Governor further noted that they have come up with economic policies geared towards stabilising the national economy.

FULL DECREES (MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2023)

President Kiir on Monday evening issued several decrees sacking and appointing new officials in the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance and Planning, Ministry of Trade and Industry and National Revenue Authority (NRA).

Below are the decrees.

1. J***y Ohisa Damain - Sacked as the governor of Central Bank

2. James Alic Garang - Appointed as the new governor of Central Bank

3. Addis Ababa Othow - Sacked as the first deputy governor of Central Bank

4. Samuel Yanga Mikaya - Appointed as the new first deputy governor of Central Bank.

5. John Machiek Achuoth - Sacked as the second deputy governor of Central Bank.

6. Nyiel Gordon Kuol - Appointed as the new second deputy governor of Central Bank

7. Athian Diing Athian - Sacked as the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

8. Africano Mande - Elevated from the position of Deputy Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) to the position of Commissioner General.

9. Albino Dak Kur - Appointed as the new deputy commissioner general of the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

10. Mary Akech Taban - Sacked as the Undersecretary of Ministry of Trade and Industry

11. Kuol Daniel Ayulo - Relieved as the First Undersecretary of Finance and transferred to Ministry of Trade and Industry as the new Undersecretary.

12. Malual Tap Diu - Appointed as the First Undersecretary of Finance in the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

BREAKING NEWS: GOVT CANCELS SENIOR 4 RESULTS FOR THREE SCHOOLS

The Ministry of General Education and Instructions on Thursday announced that it has canceled the national examination results for three schools for breaking National Examination rules in Regulations according to Simon Nyok Deng, Secretary General of the National Examination Council.

The schools whose examination results have been canceled are Standard Secondary School in Western Bahr El Ghazal State, Juba High Secondary School in Jonglei State, and Ganyliel Secondary School in Unity State.

Nyok said that the council also canceled 203 results of the students whose cheating cases were detected by the examiners during marking and 6 other results of other students that were caught cheating during examinations.
