Sad news that Jill Jolliffe has died. Her reporting and writings on the invasion and occupation of Timor Leste, and especially on the resistance, were always deeply knowledgeable. She was an extraordinarily brave woman.

Dear friends of Jill,

It is with much sadness that I have to inform you Jill passed away from heart failure on the morning of 2nd December 2022.
I am certain you will all be as sad as I am but also so grateful that she came into our lives, the world and especially Timor Leste is a better place because of her.
At this stage there will be a memorial for her in January and I will of course provide details when they come to hand.
