Promising progress in advanced liver cancer treatment 💡

A study from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital suggests that combining proton therapy with immunotherapy may significantly improve outcomes for patients with advanced liver cancer.

In one reported case a 15 cm liver tumor was reduced to 6 cm enabling surgery and the patient remained cancer free for two years.

This research highlights the potential of integrated cancer care and reflects an important advancement in Taiwan’s medical innovation.

A rare milestone in fetal therapy in Taiwan: Chang Gung’s multidisciplinary medical team successfully completed a minimally invasive fetoscopic spina bifida repair, giving one baby girl a new chance at life.👧🩷

Diagnosed during pregnancy with severe spina bifida, she faced a high risk of paralysis after birth. After undergoing surgery before birth, she is now 4.5 years old, can run and jump normally, and only needs regular follow-up care.

This breakthrough highlights how advanced prenatal treatment can improve outcomes for babies with serious fetal conditions. Chang Gung hopes this success will raise awareness that an abnormal prenatal diagnosis does not always mean giving up—sometimes, treatment can offer real hope.
