THINGS I WISH SOMEONE TOLD
about studies...🙆🙆
“Nobody told us that studying hard doesn’t always mean studying right.”
Here’s the truth that changed my CGPA forever 👇
I remember the day I stared at my result sheet and almost cried.
Not because I failed… but because I knew I could do better.
That day, I realized something — many students don’t have “low CGPAs” because they are dull. No. They just haven’t learned how to study smart.
When I got to my second year, I met a senior who changed my perspective. He said, “You’re studying too hard, not smart.”
That line hit me like thunder.
So, let me break it down for you like I wish someone had done for me earlier.👇
1. Study smart, not hard.
Imagine using a blunt knife to cut meat. You’ll sweat, get tired, and still not cut it well.
That’s what happens when you read without strategy.
Smart students don’t just read everything — they target the right things.
They focus on past questions
They identify likely topics
They understand patterns in how lecturers set questions
And most importantly, they teach others what they’ve learned
When you teach, you remember better.
2. Have a reading pattern that fits you.
Stop copying your friend who reads all night with energy drink and biscuits.
Maybe your brain works best in the morning, maybe theirs works at night.
Find your rhythm. Study when your mind is calm and alert.
That’s what smart studying means — knowing yourself.
3. Attend classes — even the “boring” ones.
You see, when a lecturer explains something in class, it sticks faster than when you struggle with it alone.
Sometimes one sentence from a class can help you write one page in the exam.
4. Things that secretly kill your CGPA:
Procrastination: “I’ll read later” turns into “I didn’t read at all.”
Distraction: Your phone won’t let you focus for 10 minutes.
Pride: You’re too shy or proud to ask questions when you don’t understand.
No rest: You read all night but forget your brain needs sleep to remember.
5. Little habits that lift your CGPA:
Review your notes within 24 hours after each class
Form small reading groups with serious-minded friends
Set weekly study goals and track your progress
Avoid comparing yourself to others; focus on your growth
I’m not saying it’s easy, but your CGPA can grow faster than you think when you begin to study with purpose and direction.
Remember, it’s not the number of hours you spend with your books that matters — it’s the quality of what you do with those hours.
So, here’s my question to you
