A Reflection on Fellowship Impact
Completing this research fellowship has been transformative. What began as a focused question about antimicrobial resistance unfolded into a full research arc connecting laboratory rigor with real-world impact.
From topic validation through literature review, I built a foundation grounded in existing scholarship. Fieldwork made the research human through conducting an impact project report outside parent research outreach at Kawempe Kutano Market revealed that numbers represent real stewardship decisions in communities facing genuine constraints. Analysis and manuscript preparation became the work of translation: honouring field insights while meeting peer-review standards.
Being recognized as an outstanding team player reflects the mentorship and collaborative rigour that made this possible. My colleagues challenged my thinking and celebrated breakthroughs alongside me.
As the manuscript awaits publication, I'm reminded that rigorous science thrives in the community. The research itself matters, but so does the ongoing work of translating evidence into practice. Wale University
