This is a great event!

Happening this Saturday, July 25th!! This will be a really fun way for folks with special needs to come spend some fun, judgement free, sensory friendly time at the park. This event is open from 11:30am - 1:00pm to all children and adults with special needs. The daily fee will be $7.00, and season passes will be accepted. Any necessary caregivers will not be charged admission. Participants are welcome to stay after the sensory event ends at 1pm! Also please note - there will be NO noon riverwalk on this Saturday as we host this event

We are excited to partner with Northern Career Services to stock their new Career Closet. On Friday, July 24th we will be accepting donations in the Chamber Conference Room from 9am - 12pm.

The Career Closet is being built to support Northern State University students as they prepare for interviews, internships, and professional opportunities. To help make this resource successful, Northern Career Services and the Chamber Workforce and Education Committee are seeking donations of gently used or new men’s and women’s business casual and professional clothing.

These items will provide students with access to appropriate attire, helping them feel confident and prepared in their career journeys. Your contributions can make a meaningful difference in helping others take the next step toward employment success.

As someone who experienced SM as a child, myself, it's heart-warming to see more awareness, knowledge, and support out there! 🫶

Selective Mutism is a rare form of anxiety disorder impacting someone's ability to speak 🗣 in social settings. This is not typical "shyness," but an involuntary freeze response, a paralyzing fear, impeding the body's ability to produce speech, even if the person can speak in other situations, like at home.

👏 This is amazing for rural SD families!
Increased knowledge and awareness of pediatric mental health leads to early detection and early intervention. With early interventions, children have the opportunity to reduce long term struggles with mental health issues.

New funding will expand BEAM-SD resources to help South Dakota health providers identify and treat youth mental and behavioral health concerns earlier, improving access for rural and frontier families.
