Happy Coaches Day to the team behind All-Star Training Club (ATC)! 💙

Kelly Maze, Darius McGhee and Elaina Fox help make inclusive sports possible for athletes across our community. Whether they're doing bigger picture administrative tasks or encouraging athletes on the field, their passion shines through everything they do. We're so grateful for their dedication to our All-Stars and how they make sure everyone gets the chance to be part of a team!

Curtis joins Transportation Services as an on-call driver, helping the people we support get where they need to go safely and reliably.

Caroline joins our SociAbilities program as a direct support professional, helping people with disabilities enjoy engaging experiences and community trips.

Last week, UDS got a visit from Zoo-2-Go Animal Adventures and our day program participants couldn't have been more excited!

The mobile petting zoo brought a variety of animals to UDS including baby goats, a miniature horse and a miniature pig that loved belly rubs! Participants had the chance to get up close and spend time with the adorable animals.

We're grateful to the generous donor who made this experience possible. Their kindness brought so much joy to our building and created a day that participants and staff won't soon forget!

We love highlighting partnerships that expand access and awareness! Recently, Dr. Jocelyn Pettitt and Heidi Seymoure from UDS Low Vision Services had the opportunity to visit the studios of Seeing Eye Radio and sit down for an interview with Alex Yanculeff.

A service of Goodwill Industries of Akron, Seeing Eye Radio provides vital access to local and national news, information and community content for individuals with visual and physical impairments. During the interview, Dr. Pettitt shared how UDS's low vision clinic helps adults and children live more independently through specialized assessments, low vision aids, education and support services that can truly be life changing. Thank you to Alex Yanculeff and the Seeing Eye Radio team for helping spread awareness about the resources available to individuals living with low vision.

Several people from UDS programs recently attended a Mardi Gras themed adult prom💃 After getting all dolled up for the occasion, attendees enjoyed a day filled with dancing, delicious food and fun with friends. Judging by the smiles on the dance floor, everyone had an amazing time!

Thank you Wednesday’s Child Nonprofit for hosting such a special event!

Last week, our Toy & Resource Center and Low Vision Services team were proud to participate in the Interactive Tech Expo at Summit Mall. They shared sensory toys, low vision aids and other adaptive technology designed to assist and engage people with disabilities.

Many of our program participants also attended the Expo to discover technology that could make a difference in their daily lives. We're grateful to be part of events like this, not only to showcase the resources available through UDS, but also to help connect the people we serve with new tools that can support them in reaching their goals. 💙✨

One of BraVo!'s many volunteer projects involves grocery shopping for Grace House Akron, Inc. , a nonprofit comfort care home that provides compassionate end-of-life care for people without the resources to receive the support they need.

We're proud of our BraVo! volunteers and grateful for community partners like Grace House that make Akron a more caring place for everyone!
