June 1, 2026, Connect The Dots partnered with CWC Alliance, a Georgia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending opioid misuse through education and prevention. Founded by Cammie Wolf Rice, the organization works to prevent opioid addiction before it begins through community education, mental wellness support, and prevention initiatives.
This adult-focused training brought together community leaders, professionals, advocates, and service providers to learn evidence-based prevention strategies, increase awareness of opioid misuse, and strengthen local efforts to support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. The training also introduced the Communities Talk initiative and highlighted opportunities for collaboration across sectors to address prevention and recovery in Southwest Georgia.
The success of this event was made possible through the support and partnership of CWC Alliance, Phoebe, Resilient Georgia, Inc., NAMI Albany, Compassionate Atlanta, SAMHSA, GPSN, The Honey Baked Ham Company, and Marco’s Pizza. Their commitment to prevention, education, and community wellness helped create a meaningful and impactful experience for participants.
Connect The Dots is also excited to continue this partnership with CWC Alliance by bringing the Youth Prevention Network Training to Albany on June 30, 2026, empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and leadership tools needed to make healthy choices and become prevention advocates within their schools and communities.
Opioid and Substance Abuse Prevention Statement
Opioid and substance misuse continue to impact families, workplaces, schools, and communities throughout Georgia. Prevention starts with education, awareness, and open conversations that reduce stigma and encourage individuals to seek help when needed. By equipping adults and youth with accurate information, communities can identify warning signs earlier, promote healthy coping strategies, and connect individuals to resources that support recovery and wellness. Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities where prevention is possible, recovery is supported, and every life is valued.
“Prevention is Possible. Education Saves Lives. Community Creates Change.”
