Today is National Senior Citizens Day!
We honor the wisdom, resilience, and stories of the older adults in our community. Aging comes with unique emotional milestones—navigating retirement, health changes, grief, or shifts in family dynamics.
Our counselors at Dayspring offer compassionate, dedicated care for every stage of life. And we accept Medicare insurance.

Take time to thank an elder or grandparent who made a lasting impact on your life! ❤️

To our young adults launching into new careers, college campuses, or independent living: Feeling like an "imposter" or experiencing intense self-doubt is completely normal during major life moves. 🧭
You don't have to have your entire life mapped out right now. Focus on taking the next right step.

A trauma trigger isn't just an annoyance; it is a rapid physical reaction where your body senses danger based on a past experience.
Sudden loud sounds, specific tones of voice, or feeling trapped can trigger a flight-or-fight response. Identifying your triggers with a professional counselor is the first step toward regaining control.

Did you know EMDR therapy is highly effective for reducing trauma triggers?

Did you grow up in a home where emotions weren't talked about, or anger was the only allowed reaction?
You don't have to pass those same patterns down to your children or spouse.
Counseling provides the tools to break unhealthy generational cycles and establish a legacy of emotional health.

We are committed to helping you breaking unhealthy patterns for the next generation!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28. 🕊️
Jesus doesn't ask you to fix your life before coming to Him. He asks you to bring your heavy burdens directly to Him so He can lighten the load.

We pray for you to have His peace over your heavy burdens today.

Parents: Does your child hold it together all day at school, only to explode in tears or anger the second they get home? This is called 'after-school restraint collapse'. 🎒 Your child has spent hours regulating their behavior in a structured environment, and home is the safe place where they let their guard down.
Offer snacks and quiet time before jumping into questions or homework.

If you want more info on how to help your child with the after school transition, we offer parenting consultations with our licensed counselors.

When the school calendar fills up with sports practice, meetings, and homework, couples often default to acting like roomates managing a logistics company. 🗓️ Don't let your marriage take a backseat to your schedule.
Even 15 minutes of uninterrupted conversation at night can keep your relationship connected.

Couples: Plan for some low-cost or home date night ideas that you can use during busy weeks. Then you can just pick one when life is too busy to come up with an idea.

Is your child showing extra irritability, clinginess, or trouble sleeping this week? 🎒 Back-to-school anxiety doesn't always look like worry—it often shows up as behavioral changes. Instead of focusing only on consequences, validate their feelings: "New classes and teachers can feel scary, and that's completely normal."

Parents, how is your child feeling about the upcoming school year? Drop a 'worried', 'excited', or 'both' below! Our counselors are seeing that most students are both - the biggest worries are making friends and making good grades.
