The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced that CMS is encouraging every state to phase out the use of mercury-containing dental amalgam in Medicaid programs and transition toward mercury-free restorative materials.

For those who have spent years educating, researching, advocating, and refusing to give up... today is worth celebrating.

To every patient who asked questions.
To every dentist who chose mercury-free dentistry.
To every hygienist, assistant, researcher, educator, and advocate who spoke up when it wasn't popular...

This moment belongs to you.

The IABDM has been promoting mercury-free biological dentistry since 1984. While there is still work ahead, today's announcement represents meaningful progress toward safer dentistry for future generations.
