Helping moms find calm in the middle of real-life motherhood. Hi, I'm Jessica, founder of Calm & Colorful, creator of Mama Pause, and most importantly mama to Korbin. I started Calm & Colorful because I believe emotional regulation isn't something we should only learn after we're overwhelmed. It's a skill we can practice every day, in the little moments that make up family life. My mission is to help parents, especially toddler moms, create calmer, more connected homes through practical, science-informed tools that fit into real life. I'm an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), certified Parent, Family, Children's, Teen, and Youth Coach, as well as a certified Mindfulness and Breathwork Coach. Next time your chest feels tight and there's no minute to spare, try this: breathe in through your nose, then without exhaling, sneak in one more short sip of air right on top of it. Let it all go in one long, slow exhale through your mouth.

That double inhale is called a physiological sigh, and it's one of the fastest ways to tell your nervous system the moment has passed, even while you're still standing in the middle of it. It works at the sink, in the carpool line, holding a little one who won't settle yet.

Before it had a name, Mama Pause was a voice memo in my car outside preschool pickup.

Three minutes, eyes closed, engine still running. I wasn't building anything yet. I just needed somewhere to put my breath down before I walked back into the noise.
