So why do I offer them?

Although the way you run doesn’t predict injury, it can be predictive of the type of injury you MAY get and it is another thing to modify to keep you running if you are injured.

Bones need very high load for a very short time to improve their density.

Think jumping, gymnastics, lifting heavy weights.

NOT running, walking, elliptical, even with a weighted vest.

The weight vest will make the activity more challenging and potentially increase cardiovascular health but IT WILL NOT improve bone density.

Runners: add plyometrics, jumping, and heavy lifting to build strong bones.

Took a week at a lower mileage because I was crawling around my crawl space for 11 hours over the weekend. Sometimes you just have to give up a run because of other life stress. And you know what, that’s fine.
The name of the game is consistency so we’re back on track with last week and so far, this week.
