Mental health care isn’t always medication, therapy, or working on yourself.
Sometimes it’s laughing until your face hurts.
Being ridiculous with people you love.
Getting outside.
Playing.
Making a memory.
And being completely present for a few minutes.
As adults, we can get so focused on productivity and everything we should be doing that we forget something our brains also need: joy.
Joy doesn’t cure depression, anxiety, ADHD, or trauma—and I don’t want to minimize those conditions by pretending it does.
But connection, pleasurable activity, movement, novelty, and meaningful experiences can all be important pieces of mental wellness.
When was the last time you did something simply because it was fun?
📍 I’m a PMHNP accepting new patients in Utah for psychiatric medication management and integrative mental health care.
