Anthony "Tony" J. Vidulich

Anthony J. "Tony" Vidulich, age 73, of Amsterdam, took his last breath here on earth and his first breath of eternal bliss with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on August 21, 2026. He was born August 8, 1953 in Amsterdam, the son of Martin and Jennie Morreale Vidulich.

Tony attended school at Galway CSD, where he was fondly nicknamed "AV". He worked in the maintenance and dietary fields, before retiring from Mt. Lorretto in Amsterdam.

A true family man who was gentle and caring, Tony navigated life with a calm, steadfast and reassuring spirit. Faith and family were the true hallmarks of his journey, guiding his every step. Known affectionately by many as "The Walking Bible," Tony's deep knowledge of scripture meant he always had the wisdom to deliver the right words at the right time. He was a dedicated Prayer Warrior, faithfully keeping his family and friends in his prayers daily.

Born with an inventive spirit and a natural curiosity, Tony developed a lifelong love of field cars and motorcycles early in life. A self-taught mechanic, he was always tinkering and doing mechanical work in the yard, bringing a sharp mind and creative hands to every project.

Music was another great joy in Tony’s life. Blessed with a beautiful voice often described as "The Golden Voice," he sang in a rock and roll band during the 1970s and later poured his talent into worship teams. His voice had a unique, soothing quality that provided an immediate sense of peace and comfort to all who listened.

Tony found joy in the simple, everyday moments of life. He loved gathering around the kitchen table or Stewart's with a good cup of coffee, working in his garden, planting with one hand and generously giving with the other, cutting and stacking wood, tending to his chickens and hosting family BBQs where he proudly served his famous "Vidulich Burgers." Tony had such a deep love for family & nurtured family gatherings with a heartfelt desire to carry on family traditions.

Tony held a special place in his heart for the surrounding area, including Galway, Hagaman, and Schoharie. He knew the winding roads, where he used to ride his motorcycle, loved the rolling hills, quiet lookouts, and the comforting rhythm of country life. Some of Tony's happiest hours were also spent near the water, listening to the river flow - a sanctuary for quiet reflection and peace. Perhaps Tony's favorite place to be, though, was home on "The Vidulich Farm".

Tony had an amazing sense of humor, he had endless stories that were sure to bring a smile or laugh to his face or whoever was listening. He was gifted in the art of conversation and shared his stories with everyone. These stories will be remembered for many years to come.

Tony deeply cherished his relationships. He treasured his lifelong friendships, valuing every single person who walked alongside him. On November 21, 2004, he married the love of his life, Linda, his cherished "Galway Girl". Their partnership was a cornerstone of his happiness.

Tony leaves behind a rich tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of love.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; treasured children Jonathan (Sarah) Vidulich, Christie (James) Emmons, Alissa Vidulich, Amanda (Jay) Savarese and Ashley (John) Savarese; brothers Marty Vidulich and Paul Vidulich; his grandchildren whom he adored Hailey (Sam) Nash, Jeremiah, Emily, Joy, Autumn, Oliver and Cooper; a great grandchild Finn; nieces Angela and Rebekah; and many, many extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Jennie Vidulich, son Christian; sister-in-law Candy; and mother-in-law Molly Hadley.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM to 12:00PM Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam where a Funeral Service will follow at 12:00PM.

David M. Selby

Mr. David M. Selby, 86, of Broadalbin, NY, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

Born on November 4, 1939, in Amsterdam, David was the son of the late Samuel Selby and Jane McCoy Selby. He grew up with his family in Fort Johnson, NY, and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam in June 1957.

David served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1963 during the Vietnam War. He was stationed aboard the USS Hermitage, LSD-34, where he served as a radioman and electronic technician. Following his military service, David was employed by Fiber Glass Industries in Amsterdam and later by General Electric Company in Schenectady. During his career with General Electric, he traveled throughout the Northeast as a computer technician before retiring in 2001.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and NASCAR. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He especially enjoyed camping and skiing with his beloved wife, June.

On July 14, 1979, David married the former June A. Stefka. In addition to his wife, June, he is survived by two nieces, Heather Carangelo (John) of Ballston Lake and Tracy Goodemote (Terry) of Queensbury; two nephews, David Smith of Broadalbin and William Smith (Nelda) of Michigan; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his two sisters, Janice Smith and Gayle Selby.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Military honors will follow the service.

Susan H. Ringland

On Sunday morning, August 23, 2026, Susan Ringland took her final bow and the curtain closed on a life that left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to share her stage.

Susan was born May 26, 1945 to Richard and Betty Hathaway in Gloversville, New York. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School, York College and Temple University.

Susan spent her career working in government for the State of Pennsylvania. Beginning as a speech writer for the Lieutenant Governor, she moved on to work for the State Supreme Court and then served as Vice President of government relations for AT&T. After she retired she returned to Gloversville to be closer to family and attained her RN from FMCC.

Susan loved people, animals and her community. This was reflected in the boards she served. Fulton County SPCA, Mountain Valley Hospice and Family Counseling.

Susan is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Betty Hathaway and her beloved husband George Ringland.

Her story continues with her surviving family and friends. Sisters, Elizabeth Hathaway and Deborah Rose. Her sons, Dylan and Justin Hathaway, and their wives, Amanda and Robin, respectively. Her grandchildren, Jack and Kate Hathaway ( Dylan) and Isiah Hathaway (Justin). As well as great granddaughter Athena and a sprawling cast of nieces, nephews and dear friends who were part of her fabulous life.

Susan shared her long, wonderful life with many treasured canines, including Briggs and Mc Bean. She is survived by Oakie and Willow. Susan was also an avid equestrian, sharing wonderful memories with her Arabian mare , Rowdy. They were together for nearly 30 years.

Susan will be remembered for her effortless elegance, humor and kind heart.

A private family farewell will be held in her honor.

Robert "Bob" N. Langdon

Robert N. "Bob" Langdon, 77, of Fultonville, passed away August 19, 2026 after a courageous 20-year battle with multiple myeloma. Bob faced every day with an unbelievable amount of fight, resilience, and strength. He was born May 2, 1949 in Amsterdam, the son of Robert W. and Marjorie Gillis Langdon.

A lifelong local, Bob graduated from Fonda-Fultonville High School before earning his Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Fulton-Montgomery Community College in 1972. Always looking to grow and excel, he later pursued continuing education in management at Cornell University.

Bob was a natural leader and an exceptionally hard worker who simply did not sit still. Professionally, he dedicated his career to the Price Chopper Golub Corporation, starting in 1973 and remaining with the company until his retirement. Over the decades, he managed multiple stores across the state and proudly served on the Northeast Fresh Food Alliance board of directors. He took immense pride in the many leadership and management positions he held, approaching every role with ambition and drive.

Beyond his career, Bob believed deeply in giving back to his community. He served his local community as a member of the Fonda-Fultonville School Board, guided youth as a dedicated Boy Scout leader, and was a proud, active member of the Glen Reformed Church.

In his personal life, Bob was a talented and proud woodworker; every piece he crafted bore his own custom stamp. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods. Above all, his greatest joy came from sharing those passions and teaching his children and grandchildren the beauty of the outdoors. Bob was a "doer" in every sense of the word—ambitious, active, and deeply devoted to the people and places he loved. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Nancy Persse Langdon whom he married in June of 2002; two sons Brian (Lisa) Langdon and Robert C. Langdon; and when he married Nancy, he gained another family - Katie (Kevin) Bowler and their children Matthew (Kasandra) Bowler, Emma (Kyle) Bowler, and Caleb Bowler. He is also survived by his siblings Linda Galpin, Kathie (Clayton) Carpenter, Joyce Langdon, and James (Nancy Gray) Langdon; granddaughter Caylie Langdon; sister-in-law Nancy Langdon; brother-in-law Tom (Paul) Persse; as well as several nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert W. and Marjorie Langdon; first wife Pamela Langdon; brother David Langdon; sister Carol Langdon; and brother-in-law Albert Galpin.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00PM to 2:00PM Friday, August 28, 2026 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes 15 Main St, Fultonville where a Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM with Pastor Thomas Flander, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

Peter E. Capobianco

Peter E. Capobianco, 90, passed away peacefully at home in Myrtle Beach, SC, on August 15, 2026. He was born in Yonkers, NY on December 28,1935 to the late Nicholas and Rose Capobianco.

He is predeceased by his wife, Diana, his son, Peter and his brother, Angelo.

Survivors include his daughter, Rosemarie and her husband Thomas; extended family members, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a graduate of Manhattan College where he received is Masters Degree in Hospital Administration. He was the CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital for 24 years retiring in 2004. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves with an honorable discharge.

He was an avid musician performing with a band in many venues in the New York City area for many years before relocating to Amsterdam, NY in 1980. While at St. Mary’s Hospital, he performed in a band named Med Rock consisting of doctors and administrators. He also performed for the residents at Portside Assisted Living facility where he resided for the last three and half years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and involved with St. Mary’s Church. He was heavily involved in various community services in the Montgomery County area.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 21st at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam. Private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Pastor Philip W.B. Carey

Pastor Philip W.B. Carey, 77, of Gloversville, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on August 12, 2026 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 2, 1948 in Gloversville, the son of William and Christine Carey. On June 22, 1974, he married his childhood sweetheart, Connie Mosher, who lived across the street from him.

In his early years, he began his first job as a newspaper carrier at the age of 13. At 16, he began working in the Pressroom of the newspaper as the mail room foreman. From there, he began a five-year program as an apprentice, working as a Pressman on the Leader Herald newspaper's First Web Offset Press. In March of 1971, he completed the five-year program in four years and became a Journeyman Pressman with a certificate from the Apprentice Training Section of the NYS Department of Labor. That same year, he was named Assistant General Manager of the Web Offset Division of the William B. Collins Company, which was publisher of the Leader Herald.

A few years later, in 1975, he began working for Liberty Leather in Gloversville as their Color Technician. This was also a special year for Phil, as it was when he was "born again." In 1982, he began a job with Tiffany Leather (Townsend) in Johnstown, where he worked until he received the call from God to be the Pastor of the newly founded church of Believers' Fellowship Center a.k.a. Believers' Family Church in Johnstown in 1987. In February 1989, Phil was Ordained as Pastor into full-time ministry. He continued in his ministerial training through Word of Faith Bible Institute, World Outreach Bible School and Supernatural Ministry Training Institute. Pastor Phil was Senior Pastor of Believers' Family Church for 37 years.

Throughout his years of ministry, Pastor Phil faithfully served the congregation of Believers' Family Church with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God. His sermons, counseling, and personal encouragement touched countless lives throughout the community. He dedicated himself to sharing the Gospel, mentoring others in their faith, and exemplifying Christ's love through both word and action. His legacy of faith, service and steadfast commitment to the Lord will continue to inspire all who knew him. In 1999, the church family surprised Pastor Phil and Connie with a Twenty-Fifth Wedding Anniversary Celebration and a trip to Hawaii!

Family was everything to Pastor Phil, second only to his walk with the Lord. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was time spent together. Whether it was cherishing family vacations, taking unforgettable trips to Florida, or simply picking up his granddaughters from school, his family was his pride and joy! He was famously known by his loved ones as "Philly Fix-It." A gifted craftsman, Pastor Phil loved working with wood. He poured his talent and care into building fine furniture and even constructed the family's woodshed - leaving behind tangible pieces of his dedication and labor of love. He completed an Electrical course at FMCC and was able to rewire his whole house! He also had a joyful appreciation for the classic tunes of Elvis, which often brought smiles to those around him.

Pastor Phil was known for his selfless spirit, his nonjudgmental nature, and his genuine love for others! He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a kind word or provide encouragement to anyone in need!

Pastor Phil is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Carey, the love of his life; daughters Jaime (Anthony) Luciano; Kimberly (Nelson) Tyler; Shawn Cassell, who was like a son; two brothers Mark (Victoria) Carey; Vincent (Annie) Carey; sister-in-law Linda (Wrandy) Siarkowski; grandchildren Alexa, Emmily, and Reese Luciano; and Christopher and Gracie Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents William and Christine Carey, father and mother-in-law Fred and Millie Mosher, a brother Eugene and his wife Naomi Carey, and his nephew Marko Carey.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Believers' Church in Glenville - 304 Swaggertown Road Schenectady, NY 12302.

Anthony "Duke" Caruso

Anthony "Duke" Caruso, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and community.

Anthony was born February 1, 1937, in Gloversville, NY, son of the late Mary and Louis Caruso. He was the beloved husband of his late wife, Edna Cannizzo Caruso, whom he married on August 17, 1959. They shared many beautiful years together.

Anthony was a graduate and Class President of the Gloversville High School Class of 1955. He went on to attend SUNY Cobleskill and later earned a degree in Sociology through the University Without Walls program. He dedicated more than 30 years of service to Tryon School.

Anthony devoted much of his life to serving others. He was active in Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Gloversville/Johnstown Water Board, the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Gloversville High School Football Booster Club, and served as President of Gloversville Little League Baseball. He also proudly served as Deputy Mayor of Gloversville. A devout Catholic, he was a proud member of Sacred Heart Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa.

Anthony was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and lifelong Red Sox fan.

Most of all, Anthony will be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather "Pops," and friend who devoted his life to helping those around him.

Anthony is survived by his children, Jeannine (David) Toney of Ballston Spa, NY, and Stephen (Patricia) Caruso of Uxbridge, MA; his grandchildren, Ryan Caruso, Nicholas Toney (April Reynolds), and Anthony Caruso (Julia); his great-grandson, Anthony "A.J." Caruso; his siblings, William (Kim) Aperance and Rick (Cindi) Renschler; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Anthony was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas (Pat) Caruso, Nancy (Alvin) Busch, and Joseph (Sue) Caruso.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, New York 12020, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 76 South Kingsboro Ave., Gloversville, New York 12078.

His kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Terry Lee Willis

Terry Lee Willis passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at Mountain Valley Hospice, surrounded by his loved ones, after a 10-year-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family and taking pride in the life he built with his own hands.

Terry was born June 15, 1947, in Gloversville, New York, to LeRoy Lester Willis and Shirley Carruthers Willis.

Terry was a lifelong logger, following in the footsteps of his father, with whom he began working in the woods at a young age. Logging was more than a job to Terry; the woods were his happy place. He spent many years working in the woods, including countless days alongside his son, Roy. His love of hard work and dedication to providing for his family became a lasting example that he passed down to his children.

On February 4, 1967, Terry married the love of his life, Geraldine Patricia Boucher Willis, after just six months together. Their love and commitment continued for nearly 60 years. Together, Terry and Geraldine built a life centered around their family and their home.

They welcomed their daughter, April Lee Willis Ferris, on November 2, 1967, followed by their son, Roy Michael Willis, on August 20, 1970. Terry was a devoted husband and father who took great pride in his family. He instilled in his children the same strong work ethic that had guided his own life: to work hard, take care of your family, and never be afraid to get your hands dirty.

Terry and Geraldine made their home in Meco, New York, where they lived together for 45 years. Terry spent years working on and adding to their home and property, much of that work done alongside his son, Roy. The home they created was a place where their family could gather and where many cherished memories were made.

Terry was a loving grandfather to Shandi Dickenson (Shawn Dickenson), Jason Clifford, Lillian Willis, Sophey Willis, and Isabelle Simek (Peyton Simek), and a proud great-grandfather to Kaleb, Madilyn, and Emma Dickenson. His family was one of his greatest sources of pride and happiness. He also shared a special love for his beloved dog, Timber, and cat, Murphy, who were faithful companions in his home.

Terry is survived by his son, Roy Willis, and daughter-in-law Cathy Willis; his daughter, April Ferris, and son-in-law Scott Ferris; his grandchildren Shandi Dickenson (Shawn Dickenson), Jason Clifford, Lillian Willis, Sophey Willis, and Isabelle Simek (Peyton Simek); and his great-grandchildren Kaleb, Madilyn, and Emma Dickenson. He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cherished family friends.

Terry was predeceased by his mother, Shirley Carruthers Willis, and his father, LeRoy Lester Willis.

Terry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his dedication to providing for those he loved, his love for the woods, and the many lessons he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was a man who found happiness in simple things: working with his hands, being in the woods, building a home, and spending time with the people and animals he loved.

Though he will be deeply missed, Terry’s legacy lives on in the family he worked so hard to provide for, the values he passed down, and the many memories made over a lifetime.

At Terry’s request, he will be cremated. A private celebration of his life will be held with his loved ones gathered together to remember, honor, and celebrate the life he lived.

John Autilio

John Raymond Autilio, age 80, of Caroga Lake, NY, passed away on August 4, 2026. He was born on December 10, 1945, in Norwich, England, the son of John and Peggy (Spaull) Autilio.

John graduated from Gloversville High School in June 1965, due to traveling back and forth to England multiple times as a child. John proudly served in the US Navy starting in August 1965, onboard the USS Kitty Hawk and then on a BT boat travelling up the Mekong Delta. He earned a Purple Heart during his time in Vietnam.

He spent many years working as a security guard at General Electric in Schenectady, and later as police chief in Mayfield.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed cars, football, baseball, music, and collecting coins. In high school, he played varsity football for GHS. He also played drums around Gloversville in a band called “The Demons”.

John is survived by his daughter Heidi (Jason) Childers, grandson Brandon Lamb, granddaughter Dakotah (Mike) Gray, and great-granddaughter Madelyn Gray. His sister Melissa Autilio Fleischut and her children Henry (Veronika) Fleischut and Mary Fleischut, and his brother Patrick (Marsha) Autilio, and their daughter Anna (Rhys) Morris. He is also survived by his stepchildren Jennifer (Bill) Brownell, Jeffery (Joanne) Brownell, Vickie Brownell, Rich (Denise) Grandshaw, and Tina (John) Grandshaw. His step-grandchildren Zachary, Alexander, Taylor, Lucas, Jordan, Justin, Trai, Logan, Haley, Billy, Brittany, and Kristian and several step-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Gloria in 2017, and his step-grandson Peter Bleyl, as well as his mother Peggy Spaull Reynolds, his father John Rocco Autilio, and his stepmother Joan Autilio.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lucy Harris officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
