Meet Courtney Wang, OT. 💙
Courtney has been an occupational therapist for 20 years, 16 of which have been right here at Galaxy. She began her OT career in Denver, Colorado, working in a hospital system before making her way to Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters golf tournament, where she focused on home health. Eventually, she landed at Galaxy after responding to what she lovingly refers to as a “leap of faith OT job posting on Craigslist.”
Her interview with Meg took place at a Panera because Galaxy did not even have an office yet. In true Galaxy fashion, the interview had to be finished in Meg’s minivan after Meg’s babysitter called in sick and she had to bring her infant son along. Somehow, that unconventional interview led Courtney to what she now considers her dream job, and she has never looked back.
At Galaxy, Courtney does her OT work and then some. She is the person who helps figure things out when the power goes out, talks through the hard cases, and would genuinely shovel snow if it meant keeping a client safe. Her favorite part of the job is working with her community clients, some of whom she has had the privilege of supporting for all 16 years she has been at Galaxy.
Outside of work, Courtney describes herself as a blend of country and city. She is a sporty mom whose weekends are often filled with art events, horse shows, and family adventures. She is also the kind of person who will absolutely show up with a mattress, an air conditioner, or whatever else someone might need.
Courtney is often described as Galaxy’s mama bear, the person who will care deeply, advocate fiercely, and step in when someone needs support. She has a big heart, a strong voice, and an even stronger instinct to ensure her people are cared for in the way they deserve. Her loyalty, compassion, and willingness to show up for others are part of what make her such a meaningful presence at Galaxy.
