I've seen so many clients get told "that's a big baby" over and over during pregnancy and then in the hospital at shift change by nurses and providers, and it just completely derails their confidence, leading to more interventions they never wanted.

I know poetry isn't everyone's thing, but I have a deep love of Emily Dickinson. She never became a mother. I do wonder what she would have wrote about pregnancy, birth, & motherhood if she had been a mother. She never married; she never lived on her own. She lived what some would call a small life. Yet, her poetry speaks to people across the centuries. Haunting them, bringing joy, giving solace in her shared heartache, yearning, and love.

Im truly thankful birth work has been my calling for the last ten years. It's cheeseball to say, but I am trying hard to add more goodness to this world, one birth at a time. It definitely feels like 'I shall not live in vain' and I'm so grateful I get to do this work.

Just finished up at a beautiful home birth with the sweetest couple! A few years ago, I got to be their doula for their second hospital birth and I told them afterwards that they'd be a good candidate for a home birth if they ever wanted to do that again. Honored they took that advice to heart and invited me along for baby #3.

What a powerful labor it was! 💪💪💪

What a beautiful, raw, primal, insanely powerful labor that unfolded this morning in the same room a baby arrived with me earlier this week!

Mama bear brought her baby here in an unmedicated, HypnoBirthing haze and Dad caught baby & announced the s*x ❤️❤️ so proud of this couple!! It's always amazing to get to teach HypnoBirthing and then be able to support the couple at their birth.
