Ever notice pain in one part of your body but the real problem seems to live somewhere else?

Fascia might be the missing link. Because it’s all connected, tightness or restriction in one area can absolutely create pain in a completely different spot.

It’s one of the reasons a thorough evaluation looks at the whole body, not just where it hurts.

Curious how fascia might be playing into your symptoms?

I did not think I’d be this excited over a patch. 😅
Reunited with my estrogen patch and it feels so good 🎶. A full month of pharmacy back and forth and I finally have it back.
Quick hormone therapy truth: it’s not for everyone, and it’s not the whole perimenopause story. That’s a conversation for you and your prescribing provider. But for me, it’s been a game changer.
Here’s what people don’t always see though and what the 2 menopause certifications I have taught me: I’m still lifting heavy, protecting my sleep, managing my stress, and eating enough protein and fiber every day. HRT isn’t replacing that work. It’s amplifying it.
Perimenopause care isn’t one fix. It’s a toolbox. This is just one tool that works really well for me. 💛 If you have any questions, let me know! I’m here for ya!

Menopause Monday is back!

Let’s talk hormones. Estrogen and progesterone are the two biggest players during perimenopause. There are other hormones involved too, but we’re keeping it simple here.

Here’s a number that might surprise you: estrogen has over 400 different uses in the body. It’s not just about periods and fertility. It affects your brain, your bones, your heart, your skin, your mood, and so much more. So when estrogen starts to shift during perimenopause, it makes sense that the effects show up everywhere, not just in one place.

Understanding what these hormones actually do is the first step to understanding what’s happening to you.

Let’s talk about it. Book your visit: link in bio!

Did you know fascia wraps around every single muscle, organ, and nerve in your body?

It’s not just a thin layer here and there. Think of it as one giant connected web running through you from head to toe, linking everything together.

This is actually a big part of why whole-body movement and treatment approaches matter so much in physical therapy.

Curious how fascia might be playing into your symptoms?

Introducing: Menopause Monday ‼️

Every Monday, I’ll be sharing a fact about menopause that you probably weren’t taught, whether that’s what’s actually happening in your body, symptoms nobody warned you about, or the treatment options that actually work.

Menopause touches every person with a uterus, and yet so many of us are left to figure it out alone, armed with nothing but outdated myths and whatever we can piece together from the internet.

That stops now. This is a space for real information, delivered without judgment and without the awkwardness.

This is your permission to ask questions! Book your visit: link in bio

If you’ve ever been told by a PT that internal work is going to hurt - in my opinion, that simply isn’t true. 🙅‍♀️

Pain science tells us that bracing for pain, or being told to “push through it,” can actually put your nervous system on high alert and make things worse, not better. That’s the opposite of what we’re going for.

Internal work doesn’t have to hurt to be effective. We can treat pain in a pain-free, comfortable way that helps your whole system - muscles, nerves, and nervous system - feel safer and more at ease. When your body isn’t bracing against discomfort, it can actually let go, and that’s where the real progress happens.

So if a Netflix crew ever showed up expecting a dramatic, wince-inducing session - sorry to disappoint. The real story is calm, communicative, and paced entirely around your comfort.

If you’ve been told pain is just part of the process, I’d love to show you a different way. Comment HEAL and I’ll send you info on getting started. 💛

Self care doesn’t have to look like a spa day or a plane ticket somewhere warm.

Sometimes it looks like a face mask, your comfort show playing in the background, and folding laundry in a quiet home 😂

That’s not lazy. That’s your nervous system finally getting the signal that it’s safe to rest. When we’re constantly go go go, our bodies stay in a low grade stress response, and that impacts everything from muscle tension to sleep to how your pelvic floor functions.

Small, consistent moments of rest matter more than the occasional big gesture. You don’t need hours. You don’t need a big budget. You just need to actually let yourself receive the rest you’re giving yourself.

What’s your simplest form of self care lately? Tell me in the comments!

Self care = pelvic health care!

To squat or not to squat — over the toilet, that is. 🚽

If you’re hovering instead of sitting, your pelvic floor never actually gets to relax. That tense, hovering position keeps those muscles gripped and working overtime which means you’re straining to go and often leaving urine behind (hello, that annoying “gotta go again” feeling 10 minutes later).

The fix? Sit all the way down, feet supported, and let those muscles fully release. Remember to Just Breathe 😉Your pelvic floor can’t do its job properly if it’s stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

Small habit, big difference for how your body actually functions. 💛

Dealing with incomplete emptying, urgency, or pelvic tension? Let’s talk. Also, keep the questions coming! I’m happy to try to answer them!

To p*e or not to p*e: that is the question your bladder actually cares about. 🚽

Holding it too long? Your bladder muscle stretches and struggles to send the “time to go” signal correctly. Going “just in case” too soon? You’re training your bladder to expect emptying before it’s actually full, which can shrink its capacity over time.

Here’s the thing: your bladder is a muscle, not a storage tank you control on a whim. Treat it with the same respect you’d give any other muscle…not too much strain, not too little use.

Struggling with urgency, leaks, or bathroom habits that feel unpredictable? Let’s talk. Book your first session.

AND this👇🏻

Chronic pelvic pain is complex and it doesn’t always show up the way you’d expect.

It can look like low back pain, bladder urgency, painful intimacy, or even anxiety and fatigue that just won’t quit.

Our bodies give us clues, but they’re not always obvious.

If any of this sounds familiar, know that you are not alone, and there is more help available than most people realize.

Pelvic PT should look at the whole person, not just one body part, and that’s exactly where we start here at Just Breathe.
