Many men were taught that strength means staying in control, having the answer, or never appearing wrong.
That version of strength cannot carry recovery very far.
Healthy strength looks like staying present when ownership costs you comfort. It means telling the truth when you cannot control the outcome, listening when shame tells you to escape, and making repair without demanding quick forgiveness.
For me, the Christian picture of repentance is not humiliation. It is honest agreement with the truth followed by a changed direction. Grace does not excuse harm. Grace makes it possible to face the truth without believing our worst choices are the whole of who we are.
An integrated man does not need to be flawless. He needs to become honest, teachable, and consistent.
