You can never be too prepared for an emergency.

Recent events right here in our local community are a heartbreaking reminder that cardiac arrest doesn’t just happen to other people, in other places. It can happen to a child, an athlete, a teammate, a friend—right here at home.

As parents, when we sign our children up for sports and other activities, we ask about schedules, uniforms, practices and fees. I believe we should also be asking:

❤️ Will a rescue-ready AED be available at EVERY practice, game and event?
❤️ Where is it, and how quickly can it be reached?
❤️ Who will be there who is currently trained in CPR and AED use?
❤️ Is there an emergency action plan, and does everyone know it?

Simply owning an AED isn't enough. It needs to be maintained, accessible, and close enough to be retrieved immediately—and people need to be prepared to use it.

I also strongly encourage parents of student athletes to talk with their healthcare providers about cardiac screening, including whether an ECG is appropriate for their child. Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, Florida requires an ECG screening at least once when students in grades 9–12 first participate in interscholastic athletics, with certain exceptions. I would love to see greater attention to cardiac screening for student athletes across every state.

We prepare for fires with alarms, drills and extinguishers. We prepare for injuries with first aid supplies and athletic trainers. We should prepare for sudden cardiac arrest with that same level of intention.

Ask the questions. Know where the AED is. Make sure it is rescue-ready. Know who is trained.

Preparation may feel unnecessary—right up until the moment it isn't.

Our children are worth being overprepared for. ❤️

A full day of safety training with the team at Zink Imaging! 👏

Their team completed Bloodborne Pathogens training, along with CPR, AED & First Aid certification, helping ensure they are prepared to meet OSHA requirements—and, more importantly, ready to respond when an emergency happens.

In a manufacturing environment, emergency preparedness can mean being ready for far more than the everyday first aid situation. We covered critical, real-world emergencies including life-threatening bleeding, traumatic amputations, impalements, cardiac arrest, and other serious workplace illnesses and injuries where a fast, confident response can make all the difference.

It was a full day of training, and the Zink Imaging team brought an incredible attitude from start to finish. They stayed focused, participated fully, practiced hard, and truly invested in the learning experience.

That kind of commitment says a lot about a company. Zink is investing in the safety of its people—not only through high-quality training, but by making sure their team has the knowledge, skills, and emergency equipment needed to respond when it matters most.

Thank you, Zink, for trusting CPR Innovation with your team’s training and for making workplace safety a priority. Your team did an outstanding job! 👏

Safety doesn’t happen by accident—it takes preparation, the right equipment, and a team committed to being ready when it matters most. ❤️

I had the privilege of working with the team at Grace Christian Academy and their dedication to the safety of their entire school community truly stands out. From teachers and staff to coaches and faculty, they take emergency preparedness seriously and put in the work to make sure their team is ready to respond with confidence.

A special recognition goes to Athletic Director Josh Roberts, whose commitment to safety goes well beyond checking a box. Josh works hard to ensure his team has the emergency equipment they need, that it is ready and accessible, and—just as importantly—that the people who may need to use it are thoroughly trained.

That kind of preparation matters. When an emergency happens, having both the right equipment and the confidence to act can make all the difference.

Thank you, Grace Christian Academy, for investing in your people and making the safety of your students, athletes, staff, and entire school community such a clear priority. It was a pleasure working with your team!

Confident. Prepared. Ready.

🦷It was a pleasure working with the team at Daryl R. Hill, DDS in Asheboro for their recent CPR training!

This group brought a great attitude to the course. They stayed engaged, asked questions, participated fully, and put in plenty of hands-on practice—exactly the kind of effort that helps turn CPR training into real-world preparedness.

In a dental office, emergencies can happen without warning. Taking the time to practice, work together, and build confidence as a team can make all the difference when those skills are truly needed.

👏 Great job to the entire Daryl Hill DDS team! Your commitment to training is another reflection of the care and professionalism you bring to your patients every day.

Confident. Prepared. Ready. ❤️
