Therapy that feels like home.

Coran Brown, MA is a therapist who understands — from the inside out — the barriers our community faces when it comes to mental health.

Her door is open to everyone, and she has a special heart for the Black community, young adults, and those who’ve never felt seen in a therapy room before.

????WHAT IS CONFIDENTIALITY????
“Confidentiality in therapy is real, it is legally protected, and it is one of the most important features of the therapeutic relationship. It exists because healing requires honesty — and honesty requires safety.
You do not have to choose between getting help and protecting your privacy. Those two things are designed to coexist.”

One of the most common reasons people put off going to therapy is not the cost, not the schedule, not even the stigma. It is the fear of what happens to their words once they leave the room. What if my boss finds out? What if it affects my custody case? What if my department finds out I'm struggling?Wha...

Burnout and moral injury are not the same thing — and treating one won’t heal the other.
Most helpers know what burnout feels like. The exhaustion. The detachment. The going-through-the-motions.
But moral injury is different. It’s a wound to your values. It happens when you witness or participate in something that violates who you are — and rest alone won’t touch it.
Swipe through to learn the difference. It might explain something you’ve been carrying for a long time. 💚

If this resonates, we’re here. We specialize in trauma-informed care for first responders, military, and helpers across Tennessee — and we get the culture you came from.

This guy is one big reason I work with the populations that I do. My son has been working as a firefighter for our local community for the last 3 years but today he is also graduating the Nashville fire academy!
This guy is an EMT and Firefighter 1 & 2. I’m so proud of him and also so worried that he will buy into the stigma against seeking mental health care.
He’s one of the toughest people I know and he’s also someone with a huge heart that I want to protect.
The statistics show that 22 first responders a day complete su***de.
Those are only the reported ones.
This number is personal to me and it’s NOT OKAY.
You DO NOT have to do this work alone.

Things they don’t put in the brochure. 🖤
If you’ve laughed at something at a scene that would horrify a civilian, you’re not broken.
That’s how you survived.
If your department’s EAP has a 3-session limit and your trauma doesn’t — you already know the problem.
We get the dark humor. We also know when it stops working.
Swipe through. Share it with someone who needs to feel seen today. 💚
When you’re ready — we’re here. No judgment.
Just real support from people who understand the world you work in.

First Responders ask me all the time: “Will what I say here get back to my department?”
Short answer: No.
Under Tennessee law (Tenn. Code Ann. § 63-22-114), LPC–client communications are placed on the same legal basis as attorney-client privilege. (Herman v. Herman TN Court of Appeals, 2012).
There are limits to confidentiality as a mandated reporter — I’m required to report if you ARE planning to hurt yourself or someone else and for abuse of a child/elder/handicapped person. We go over all of these together at intake so you know exactly where the lines are before you say anything.
The rest? Yours. It doesn’t leave the room.
You don’t have to do it alone!
