A glimpse into our epic Safari adventure in South Africa! A huge thank you to our incredible guide, Rebecca and the wonderful staff of the Mongena Private Game Reserve for memories of a lifetime.

Safari lifestyle invites us to align with the rhythm and pace of nature.

šŸ’ŽIt teaches us patience as we track a mama cheetah and her cubs for days before catching a glimpse.

šŸ’Ž It teaches us to respect nature as we witness a hunt and feast.

šŸ’Ž It teaches us presence as we drop dead silent to not spook away the pride of lions circling our vehicle.

šŸ’Ž It teaches us beauty in the rhythms of nature as we witness every sunrise and sunset and the transition of wildlife some from waking to sleep and some from sleep to waking.

To visit sub-Saharan Africa for the first time with my beloved whose life’s mission is protecting African wildlife was a surreal experience I’ll never forget.

Will share the magic of our Zimbabwe trip soon. šŸ’š

The person who’s ā€œright on paperā€ leaves you cold. The one who’s ā€œwrongā€ feels like fireworks.

Here’s why: attraction doesn’t begin in your mind. Long before you consciously decide who you want, your nervous system is already reading safety, familiarity, chemistry, and threat.

The catch: the body confuses ā€œfamiliarā€ with ā€œsafe.ā€ If love felt anxious growing up, calm and available can feel boring, and the person who keeps you guessing can feel like electricity.

So the spark you trust isn’t always chemistry. Sometimes it’s your nervous system recognizing an old pattern.

The good news: this can change. When your body learns that safe and familiar aren’t the same thing, who you’re drawn to changes too.

Save this if this is you. And send it to the friend who keeps dating the same person in different packaging.

You’ve read the books, you know your , you’ve hobbled up podcasts but somehow you keep finding yourself repeating the same old patterns that sabotage love and relationships. Here is why. Your 🧠nervous system is not trained to access what you’ve learned. Until you identify the triggers and practice to rewire the automatic self-protective responses, you’ll keep sabotaging love and blame everything and everyone else.

This is how you reclaim your power and agency, and change the outcome.

Find a partner who makes you laugh, because life isn’t always rosy.

Today I celebrate my sweet darling, Bastiaan. The lionhearted, fierce, kind, hilarious, mission-driven man I have the deep honor of calling my beloved, my partner, my rock.

The last 12 months handed us more than a few obstacles. What carried us through every single one was our humor, our compassion, our care, our attunement, communication, and commitment. And honestly? A lot of being ridiculous together.

Here’s something I’ve learned as I’ve grown: the couples who get silly together stay strong together. Humor is one of the most powerful nervous system regulators there is, and trust me, we’ve got the receipts. When we feel safe, the laughter comes easy, the childlike wonder runs wild, and we live freer, fuller, more joyful lives.

He’s been traveling through Africa for nearly two months and I miss him more than words. They say distance tests love. Turns out two high-achievers will absolutely rise to a challenge. In a few short weeks I get to reunite with him, and I cannot wait.

Happy birthday, my love. Here’s to more laughter, more mischief, and every adventure still ahead. 🦁

Throw away your list! Here is the missing conversation in dating! Your nervous system keeps repeating a hidden pattern that sabotages relationships before the even begin.

You can spend the next decade comparing about the dating environment or you can take agency and behind shuttle patterns that keep love at bay. The answer is in your nervous system and connection trauma. Until you understand and heal this you’ll keep blaming others and staying resentful.

I spent the first four decades of my life mostly single. A self-proclaimed expert in how to keep love at bay.

So I know this from the inside: who we are drawn to, and how much closeness we allow, is shaped by our nervous systems long before the thinking mind weighs in.

For some, the people who could meet us feel flat, and the ones who keep us guessing take all the attention. For others, closeness arrives, and a reason to pull back appears. For others still, the fear of being left turns into chasing, over-giving, or holding on too tight.

It isn’t bad luck or bad taste. It’s a pattern that formed for a reason, and patterns can change.

On Saturday, June 27, I’m opening my home in Los Angeles for a small, in-person workshop on exactly this. Not a lecture, and not a mixer. A few hours of guided, somatic work where you feel your own pattern in real time instead of analyzing it from the outside.

Room for twelve. 1:00–3:30pm. $55.
