Proceeds from this event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Walk To End Alzheimer’s and the Quabbin Valley "Forget Me Not" fund raising efforts in the battle of this disease. The Quabbin Singers - Spring Concert, under the direction of Laurie MacDonald, featured a group of talented residents who met regularly for choir practice and recently showcased their vocal talents. "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling", "Oh What A Beautiful Morning", "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and "Home on the Range", where a few of the songs sang by the Quabbin Singers. Several of MacDonald's students as well as the Holister family contributed to the Spring Concert. We are fortunate to have such talented individuals in our community.

Today, Cleo was overcome with emotion as The Ladies Society of North Congregational Church of New Salem presented him with a Sunshine Basket, filled with some of his favorite things. His face lit up with a bright smile as he expressed his heartfelt thanks. The two ladies, Janice Barrett and Linda Knetchel representing the Ladies Society, bring joy and fellowship to a different Resident every two months. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Ladies Society from Cleo and all of us at Quabbin.

As National Skilled Nursing Care Week "Moments in Bloom" came to a close, we celebrated with a Flower Power theme, embracing the spirit of the 1970s. A brief rain shower did not dampen the enthusiasm of our dedicated crew, who grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Residents and Staff members dressed in attire inspired by the 1970s, while entertainer Heather Marie performed songs from that era. The Paws-itively Blooming Raffle was also drawn. This weeks event created lasting memories among staff, residents, their families, and our community.

Today, Quabbin Valley started National Skilled Nursing Care Week with Blooming with Honor in remembrance of our Veterans. We honored them with a celebratory breakfast as a thank you for their service and sacrifice. The celebration for National Skilled Nursing Care Week continued in the afternoon with Blooming in the Spotlights "America's Got No Talent". Residents and staff teamed up to showcase their talents that brought lots of laughs. With songs and skits such as, Old Timey Songs, "You've Got a Friend", "The Fight Song", "How Much is that Doggy in the Window" and "The Great Quabbin Escape...Maybe"

Update: there has been a cease fire on the facility Color Wars! Congratulations Prescott, they WON COLOR WARS!
PRESCOTT TAKES THE WIN!!!

The competition was ongoing between the 3 units as Residents and staff competed against each other in an all out war... color wars that is! Prescott participated in battle wearing tones of blue, as Dana staged their battle grounds in a "Forget Me Not" purple. E&G launched grenades, torpedoes and stormed the fields in an all out War of Pink... who do you think won this color wars. Vote below 👇
