One of the biggest shifts happening as I work through my master’s in psychology is realizing that curiosity isn’t just something we offer our kids. It’s something we practice ourselves.
When my child is struggling, it’s easy to jump straight to fixing, correcting, or worrying.
I’m learning that sometimes the better first question isn’t, “How do I stop this behavior?”
It’s, “I wonder what’s underneath it?”
That doesn’t mean there aren’t boundaries or consequences. It means I’m trying to understand before I assume.
I have a feeling that raising emotionally healthy kids starts with adults who are willing to stay curious too.
Come be curious with me. 🤍
