Let's be honest. Even when you catch yourself slipping sometimes. 🀣
Always be realistic! Don't be scared of the truth in front of you. If it's hard alone, it will become so much easier when you ask your COMMUNITY for help!

Perfection isn't necessary as long as you're applying effort! For the younger generations dealing with ADHD, it's always important to take a step back and give yourself a break. Remember, you are always doing the best you can as long as you are trying.πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Always lean into your community for support. They know you best! As a parent or friend, it can be so helpful to step in and provide the same reassurance. When times are tough, we can all use some reassurance to keep going. πŸ«‚

You ever feel like you "can't get it right" sometimes?

That might be ADHD showing up in school or when you're making new friendships.
Keeping up with assignments, new environments, and new people can be a lot all at once!

No worries, I'm sure you aren't the only one who's felt this now, or ever. I myself, as a young person with ADHD, went through these SAME complex feelings that you may be carrying now.

These feelings won't last forever; when you push through, it will feel like the accomplishment it is!

Don't miss out on when we talk about how to overcome these feelings! Stay tuned! 🫢🏾

Hey yall! Welcome back. πŸ‘‹πŸΎ
Today, I want to share my professional perspective on ADHD and how it shows up in our younger generations. It doesn't always look the way we expect.

And I have some homework for you: watch Forever on Netflix! This movie paints a beautiful picture of a young man navigating ADHD on his journey to college and into an entire new world on his own. Check it out!

Take a step back, take a breath, and reassure yourself. There's nothing wrong with letting your community know how you operate and what you need. πŸ«‚

Don't feel overwhelmed in these moments! You've got this.
We covered the tools: recognizing when you're in these moments of inattention or impulsivity, reassuring yourself through it, and then setting goals and boundaries to not work around it, but to work WITH it!

07/22/2026

Let's tie it all in. Drifting away mid-conversation, or saying something before you even realize it. What exactly do these moments of inattention and impulsivity actually look like in your relationships?

Check back in with me tomorrow, and we'll talk about some goal-setting tactics to get ahead of these moments!

Today's Session: How inattention AND impulsivity affect your interpersonal relationships!

From being distracted to being overwhelmed, ADHD can invite a myriad of feelings like frustration, shame, or embarrassment within just seconds. Let's talk about how these behaviors show up and how they often make us feel.

Reminder: Take a step back when feeling overwhelmed or distracted. It's okay. Take a step back, take a breath, and reassure yourself. πŸ«‚

Tomorrow we'll talk more about impulsivity in interpersonal relationships! πŸ›‹οΈ

Let's talk about what inattention looks like in social situations.
We've been on this topic for the past few days, as we've discussed what my social difficulties look like and, finally, my professional perspective.

Are yall still keeping up with me? I'm not as fast as all of those text messages! πŸ“±

Huge shoutout to Michelle Garcia Winner at Social Thinking and Stephanie Madrigal! They did an amazing job developing a great concept for developing superflexible coping skills and getting rid of things called "Unthinkables"

We'll talk more about what these unthinkables are tomorrow. In the meantime, why don't y'all try to guess what these unthinkables are? The first comment with the right guess gets a special shoutout!

Nice to see yall again! Glad to be back with another session. Last week I got a little vulnerable and shared how ADHD shows up in my own social interactions. πŸ«‚

We explored new definitions: multiple informants, impulsivity, and objective measures to better understand how we professionals diagnose ADHD.

Today, I'll be plugging in my professional view as a clinical psychologist, AND the experiences you guys have been sharing with me in the comments lately, THANK YOU! It makes me so happy learning more about you all as you learn about me! 🩷

Now tell me a little bit more: how long does it take for your social batteries to hit 0?πŸͺ«

07/11/2026

Well, maybe I was the one who needed the session today! Today I'll be sharing how my ADHD causes impulsive behavior in some social interactions I have.

Have you guys felt this before too? Starting conversations, then disappearing. Returning to them later, responding and speaking to everyone you know, even though it's exhausting, you just can't help it. Sound familiar?

Don't worry though, just like me, I know yall are the life of the party still!

I dropped another definition! Drop a comment when you see it.πŸ““
