A couple years ago, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Basil (grandpa) and Katherine (grandma) Haruch’s immigration to America. For the celebration, a slideshow was shown about their experience and life in our country.

Veselé Vánoce (Merry Christmas)! Grandma Haruch would make “houskas” during the holidays, which was delicious toasted with butter. My spouse, Cinda (Novak) Haruch, makes it too, which always made Dad happy!
