We're Back!

After taking a brief hiatus, The Social Work Collective is returning with a renewed vision, fresh energy, and an even stronger commitment to supporting social workers on their licensure journey.

Beginning September 1, clinical supervision officially resumes, and we're building more than a supervision program. We're building a community.

As Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, speaker, and clinical supervisor, I've created The Social Work Collective to be a place where emerging clinicians can grow with confidence, receive quality supervision, and connect with others who understand the journey.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a town hall for Dr. Heavenly Kimes, a candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 13th Congressional District. The conversation centered on healthcare, economic development, and education reform—three pillars that shape the well-being of every community.

As a licensed therapist who serves individuals and families across this district, this was an invaluable opportunity to ask questions and understand how Dr. Heavenly intends to prioritize mental health within her platform. I was encouraged to hear her commitment to shaping policies that increase access, affordability, and equity in behavioral health care.

Advocacy is a core part of my profession—not just in the therapy room, but out in the community. My concerns are grounded in what I see every day: the need for accessible services, affordable care, and provider options that reflect the cultural and lived experiences of the people we serve. Representation matters. Access matters. Equity matters.

Now more than ever, we must stay engaged, stay informed, and support candidates who are willing to champion real, sustainable change. Our communities deserve it.
