Did Indigenous peoples call Plantago "white man's footprint" because they pretended not to know the plant, or did they actively work to safeguard their knowledge from the people enacting genocide on them? 🤷‍♀️ Sure seems suspicious that white Europeans invented use of a plant that Indigenous peoples had been working with for LONGER than any recorded use by Europeans!

And what about Plantago use in Africa and Asia? Hmmmmm.

A student recently told me that she wasn't sure she could call herself an herbalist.

She can make tons of beautiful herbal preparations, has a thriving medicine garden, is deeply connected to plants around her, has committed to ongoing study, & supports her health + her family's with herbs all the time. I said that of course she is an herbalist!!!
