Congratulations to all 2026 graduates from preschool to college! You did it and we are so proud of you!

High school grads, preparing for college, and moving away from home can be exciting and stressful for both kids and parents. 🎓

Get ready by:

• Making sure your college student has medical insurance after high school. Kids may be covered under parents’ health insurance through age 25, in most cases. We see patients up to age 21.

• Recommending your young adult have a checkup before leaving for college. We can provide vaccines, complete forms, and provide additional testing as required.

• Having your child update their own patient information in our office. Starting at age 18, our patients are considered adults in the medical community and have to choose with whom their medical information is shared with.

• Having conversations about peer pressure, drug and alcohol use, and good decision making. If appropriate, make sure your teen knows where to go for reproductive health care.

TIS THE SEASON FOR SNEEZING 🤧

Some signs your child may be experiencing seasonal allergies include: itchy eyes and nose, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, coughing, throat clearing.

Try these tips to keep your child’s allergy symptoms under control:

● Keep windows closed especially on dry, windy days when pollen counts are the highest!

● After coming in from outside, have your child shower and change into fresh, clean clothes. This will help keep pollen off skin, hair, bedding and furniture.

● If your pediatrician has recommended any over-the-counter or prescription medications for your child’s allergy symptoms, it is key to give them consistently! Most allergy medications work at PREVENTING allergy symptoms versus quickly RELIEVING them! Keep taking them even when your child is symptom-free until allergy season is over!

● Keep in mind your furry friends can track pollen inside. Consider wiping your pets down with damp towels or paper towels when they come inside after being outdoors.
