happy new month community,

with your deepest inhale, know that your life has its own divine timeline.

and with your deepest exhale, give yourself permission to release any perceived disappointments from the last 6 months.

you are here. and that alone is worth celebrating. permit spaciousness for what will unfold for the rest of the year, and amplify the practices that have restored you thus far.

wishing you a restful long holiday weekend.

happy new month community,

no matter how the first five months of this year have gone, don't be too quick to call this season a waste.

some things may have unfolded exactly as you hoped.

others may have taken longer than expected.

and some things may not have happened at all.

but not all growth is immediately visible.

not all progress arrives in the form of milestones, achievements, or answers.

sometimes a season is preparing you, strengthening you, or teaching you something you'll only understand in hindsight.

give yourself permission to keep going without needing the full picture.

june is here and there is still time in the year.

repeat after me:

✨ no season will be wasted. ✨

hey community,

sometimes the thoughts that shape our actions need an upgrade.

scroll through these thoughts to ponder for the week and decide if any one of them is in your mind’s rotation, whether a new one better suits who you’re becoming.

take some time to inspect whether a thought is confirming an old negative belief or helping you move toward a new one.

because once we become aware of the thought, we can begin to shift the belief, the mindset, and the action that follows.

sometimes healing looks like not immediately believing the worst sis.

an affirmation to reflect on this weekend.

it's time to turn down the volume on external noise and tune into your own inner guidance. you've survived every setback, navigated every challenge, and you're still here, still growing.

your perceived "failures" don't make you less worthy, but they make you more wise.

tap into more practices for building self-trust in "Black Girls Breathing: Heal from Trauma, Combat Chronic Stress, and Find Your Freedom" by Jasmine Marie.

what wisdom has your journey taught you? share below 💭

recall the last time that you made it through a difficult season or chapter when you didn't think you would.

and the time before that...

and the time before that...

and the time before that...

the valleys won't last always. and all that's required of you in this moment is to take it one day at a time.

take stock of what you may need right now to remind you of this truth: an affirmation, a scripture, leaning into your community, scheduling a session with a therapist, a 5-min breathwork practice every morning.

you WILL make it through any sis.

your anger doesn't need to be solved right away. sometimes it just needs to be felt, witnessed, and honored for the information it carries.

during these heavy times in our world, it's natural to feel angry about things beyond our control. instead of rushing to make it go away, breathe with it. let it move through you and explore what actions it's asking you to take.

learn breathwork techniques and other practices to help you make space for your anger in "Black Girls Breathing: Heal from Trauma, Combat Chronic Stress, and Find Your Freedom" by Jasmine Marie.

how are you allowing yourself to feel today?

with our deepest inhale, we invite more into our bodies and minds this month of may.

we explore who we are without the limitations of a title or what we do.

we linger in the laughter and pauses spent with sistah-friends.

and we find gratitude in the here, now and all the small things.

we wish you a fulfilled month community. may you relish each present moment you are gifted with.

you were not built to carry it all without pause. and we focused on practicing what we preach at the start of this year.

we took a break from creating content on socials and focused more on longer-form, less "scrollable" content online.

if you're on our email lists, you've received our weekly emails and access to our free meditation library, where we prefer to show up where distractions are fewer.

as this year has been extra challenging for our community with the state of the world, we'll continue to show up online from our overflow.

rest is not avoidance—it’s strategy. it’s how we stay in the work without losing ourselves. taking a step back allows you to come back rooted, clear, and ready.

what does rest look like for you this week, sis? 🤍

if you need help giving yourself permission to rest, Jasmine Marie’s book "Black Girls Breathing: Heal from Trauma, Combat Chronic Stress, and Find Your Freedom" offers a pathway to sustainable care and is available in audiobook and wherever you buy your physical books, including your local library.
