Happy National Doctor's Day: Gratitude for the Path That Chose Me

Today, I'm reflecting on what it means to be a doctor not just the credentials or the title, but the responsibility of truly seeing the women who walk through my door.

When I chose naturopathic medicine, I chose a different path. A path that demanded I slow down, ask deeper questions, and refuse to accept surface-level answers. I chose to honor the body's innate wisdom instead of simply masking symptoms. I chose to see my patients as whole human beings their stressors, their histories, their dreams not just their diagnoses.

This work has shaped me in ways I never anticipated. It's taught me humility. It's reminded me that healing is rarely linear, and that sometimes the most powerful medicine is a listening ear and the commitment to find the root cause, not just treat what's visible.

To every woman who has trusted me with her health journey: thank you. You've taught me that medicine is an honor. You've shown me resilience I didn't know existed. You've reminded me why I do this work every single day.

To my patients who felt dismissed, who were told "it's all in your head" or offered a prescription without conversation...I see you. Your instinct that something deeper was going on was right. Your body deserves a physician who listens, investigates, and believes you.

I'm grateful for the opportunity. To meet people where they are and partner with them toward lasting wellness.

To every dream chaser out there stay disciplined and keep going.

People often ask me:

“Isn’t it hard to follow your dream when you have kids?”

Me: Yes, It’s very hard.

But I brought my kid with me on the journey so they can see what it looks like to pursue purpose.

One day I want my sons to say:
“My mom didn’t just talk about her dreams. She went after them.”

Dreams don’t stop because you become a parent.
Sometimes your children are the very reason you keep going.
