This lovely person, Penny Simpkin, left our planet yesterday after making it a better place for so many. She made the word “doula” a commonly known word and trained thousands of people in the profession. Penny founded DONA, the first doula certification organization in the USA. She was kind, compassionate, courageous, generous, fun, friendly, the adjectives could go on and on.
Penny changed birth on this planet for the better. She touched thousands, if not millions of lives. Penny, you are missed already. Thank you, dear one.
