Recently, Wellstar Nurse Practitioners Heather Loftus and Brandy Davis had the opportunity to spend time with seniors at Spalding Senior Center, sharing education and resources to support healthy aging and overall wellness.

The presentation, A Matter of Balance, focused on fall prevention, building confidence and maintaining independence. Brandy shared valuable information about colon health, preventive screenings and the importance of early detection.

We're grateful for team members who go beyond the walls of our hospitals to educate, encourage, and empower our community. Every conversation is an opportunity to help someone live a healthier life.

Wellstar Spalding Medical Center and Wellstar Sylvan Grove Medical Center were proud to join our neighbors, community partners and local leaders in celebrating Juneteenth.

From marching in the parade to connecting with families at our Community Health and Small Talk booths, our team enjoyed being part of a day that honored freedom, resilience and community. We were also grateful to hear remarks from Dr. Grogan and support an event that brings people together through reflection, celebration and connection.

Recently, Wellstar Spalding Ambulance Service was honored with the Sterling Council Best Practices Award, an organizational honor recognizing companies, healthcare facilities and government agencies for superior management and operational processes.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers and support team members who work every day to provide exceptional, patient-centered care to our community.

Matt Perry, Wellstar Spalding EMS leader, accepted the award on behalf of our team, a testament to the leadership and collaboration that make this achievement possible.

Earlier this month, Wellstar Spalding Cancer Center was filled with celebration, gratitude, and connection as cancer survivors, their families, and care teams came together in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day. From shared hugs to powerful moments of reflection, the day highlighted life beyond diagnosis and the strength found in community and compassionate care. This National Cancer Survivors Day, we are proud to pay tribute to the people who have conquered cancer and offer hope to those still fighting.

At Wellstar, caring for our community means showing up in meaningful ways beyond the walls of our hospitals. Recently, team members at Wellstar Health System came together to support a community initiative addressing period poverty, collecting more than 9,000 essential items across six departments to create 100 dignity packs for women in need.

These packs were donated to a local women’s shelter, helping provide essential supplies with compassion and dignity. Behind the effort were 16 dedicated volunteers who gave their time to thoughtfully prepare each pack, reflecting Wellstar’s ongoing commitment to supporting women’s health, removing barriers to care and strengthening the communities we serve.
