The moment right before your whole world changes 💛

📸 Repost

・・・ Nosso corpo é instrumento para as incertezas criadas pela mente. No medo, deixa ele guiar. Na dúvida, permite que a intuição fale. Nas fraquezas, aceita os sinais. Nosso corpo é caminho, ele saberá conduzir ✨

2 days. No sleep. Body exhausted. ❤️ Full.

I showed up, supported, educated, advocated—and watched a mother have the VBAC she worked for.

Tired body. Full heart. Served well. 🤎

Even when things don't go as planned, mothers still answer the call of birth..... and Doulas answer the call of mothers.

Doulas support ALL birth.

My clients are truly the BEST! 🥹💐

Today I received the sweetest surprise—a beautiful "thank you" gift delivered by Faith Design Florist.

I've had the honor of supporting this amazing family through the birth of all three of their babies, and that kind of trust is something I'll never take for granted.

Thank you for thinking of me and for allowing me to be part of such unforgettable moments. It has truly been an honor. 🤍

A woman's power isn't found in simply enduring birth—it's found in her ability to trust and surrender to the process.

Labor is hard. It stretches you physically, mentally, and emotionally. It comes with unexpected turns, moments of uncertainty, and deep vulnerability. But birth also calls you inward, inviting you to trust the wisdom God placed within your body and your intuition.

Silence the inherited fears, trauma, and doubts that don't belong to you. Let your journey with your baby be authentic, informed, respected, and uniquely yours.
Birth isn't about proving your strength. It's about discovering it. 🤍

Teach them to serve. 🤍

Women have supported women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum since the beginning of time.

Today, my daughter came with me to a postpartum visit. While I can't serve as a full-time postpartum doula because life has me in many places, I know just how sacred and necessary this season is.
So I'm teaching my girls to care for mothers. To notice the needs that often go unseen. To nourish, encourage, and serve.

Because one day, when it's their turn, they'll know exactly what they deserve in their own fourth trimester.

This is how we pass it on. One generation of women, strengthening the next. 🤍

💁🏽‍♀️What does research tell us about upright labor and birth?

According to the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group, a respected international organization that defines best practices based on research, the use of any upright or side-lying position, compared with supine or lithotomy positions (lying on back, legs supported by stirrups), is associated with the following results:

✅shorter second stage of labor;

✅a small reduction in vacuum or forceps-assisted birth;

✅fewer episiotomies;

✅less chance that the woman will report severe pain;

✅fewer abnormal fetal heart rate patterns;

✅a small increase in second-degree lacerations (in the upright group only); and

✅an increase in estimated blood loss, although there was no evidence of serious or long-term problems from the extra blood loss (Gupta, Hofmeyr, & Smyth, 2004).

⬆️Upright and gravity-neutral positions are safe during pushing and are often more comfortable than lying on your back.

➡️Following your own urge to push is less stressful for your baby than directed pushing.

⬇️Pushing when and how your natural urge tells you to gives you the best chance of preventing tears and muscle weakness in your pelvis after the birth.
