🐾 BEHIND DOGTOWN RANCH: FOUR VOICES, ONE FIGHT FOR THE ANIMALS
After six weeks of investigative reporting, The Valley Voice is sharing the stories of four individuals who helped bring attention to the troubling conditions at Dogtown Ranch in Milam County.
A whistleblower. A rescuer. A journalist. An advocate.
Alaina McLain, Cindy Marabito, Paul Mueller and Todd Stephen Smith each played a different role in the effort to seek help for the animals.
Through firsthand interviews, public records, photographs and video evidence, this feature explores their experiences, the obstacles they encountered and the questions that remain unanswered.
Dogtown Ranch has closed, and 97 dogs have been surrendered to Brandywine Valley SPCA. But the investigation—and the pursuit of accountability—is far from over.
These are their stories.
