There is a pull to a place.
You know when you feel it.
It’s low and slow…
Quiet.
Humble.
Quiet but not silent.
It takes a particular type of person to come and journey with us at Three Spirit Ranch | 🐴🐶🦄.
Someone who craves the space to hear themselves.
Someone who notices the magical symphony of nature.
Someone who knows in their bones that there is so much more here.
For too long we have been entranced.
Taught to not truly see them— horses, dogs, animals, trees- energies.
Taught to not truly see ourselves.
There’s so much noise right now— voices filling every space and too often with nothingness.
The gift of silence is becoming rare.
Each of my animals offer something unique to every experience.
The way that they show up, and what they share.
This land turns up the volume on truth.
It will show you where you’re hiding, it will offer you a mirror.
What is seen and felt is not always easy— but it is instrumental in how it supports you.
What it gives you.
What we give you.
This is a place of deep and profound medicine.
None of it is hidden here— it is pronounced.
You feel it the minute you come through our front gate.
And even before.
Folks will feel the horses calling them far before they book.
And it’s not always the same horse- sometimes it’s Frodo, Dreamer, Stevie, Raziel, or Sahara.
Sometimes it’s Oreo.
Or Star.
One of the animals tends to act as gate keeper.
Initiator.
And then they all step forward- in unison.
We all work together.
You will feel it when you come.
There’s nothing else like it.
It will take you out of your mind and pull you into your heart and your spirit.
You will go on a journey that will change you.
DM me if you feel called to journey with us for a Horse Medicine Retreat.
We have 1 remaining date for 2026 and are booking for spring 2027.

When Zanny first contacted me about this new creation and her idea for support Stevie, I shed some tears. Not only because I am so grateful for her love and support— but also because I have been a fan of her work for years. Especially when she does pieces that are inspired by her childhood with horses. But this piece feels extra special.

Earlier this year Zanny came across an ancient Roman coin dating back 2000 years of goddess Minerva on her chariot pulled by her four horses into battle. Zanny knew then that she needed to work with this sacred and magical piece. Everything that Zanny crafts is done with such care, intention, and reverence for the art. She is someone who is deeply dedicated to her craft and I always feel like every piece she makes is made with the hands of her ancestors. Zanny is a deep soul— she knows great pain (her beloved sister died from cancer) and she is someone who keeps it real and authentic. I always feel like when you buy a piece of art— you are receiving not only the creation but the energy of the person who channeled it. And Zanny is one of the most generous souls out there. Case in point— Zanny has offered to donate 20% of every sale of the Minerva Talisman this month to Stevie and her ongoing vet bills.

I feel that Stevie had a part in this— Stevie is very much a warrior and has shown that in this journey. Just today we had the vet team out and they were expressing how grateful they are for Stevie’s patience and grace. She has the strongest spirit. In many ways- although I have been caring for her— she has absolutely carried me. Sometimes it has felt like we have been riding in battle together…we are certainly bonded like that now. Stevie helps me to keep my mind strong and my heart open. She isn’t jaded from this experience. She has remained steady and present.

Each talisman carries the energies of Stevie, Zanny, and Minerva— three warrior goddesses who I would absolutely ride into battle with.

Head to www.estudiozanny.com to grab your Minerva Talisman and support Stevie! You have the option to purchase the pendant alone or you can also purchase the Pendant along with an 18” silver chain.

It is such an honour to walk with them.
These beings who are so honest, so themselves.
We are at such an interesting impasse in the world of human and animal relationships.
Learning how to live in union in a way where both beings are honoured and respected.
To nurture a relationship where both beings are heard and seen.
My relationship with Oreo is such a clear representation of that.
In the five (going on 6) years that we’ve known each other (since he was 10 weeks old) we have grown so much.
Ultimately, I believe that part of why our partnership is so binding is because I honour him.
I have never used force on Oreo.
From the minute I met him, I could feel how sensitive his soul was. How delicate his emotional body felt.
A wrong move could impact him greatly— and he is a powerful being.
In the wrong hands, I am sure that Oreo could be a very intense and hard to handle dog.
I’m not a pushover with him— I hold boundaries and set expectations.
But the key is he listens to me because of my actions. Because of my consistency. Because he believes that I am a worthy “leader” for him.
And I do the same for him.
In many ways I would say that we co-lead in our pack.
I know that I can rely on him to teach certain things to the pups and our other dogs— and he knows that he can rely on me to set certain boundaries.
It’s not a perfect dance- sometimes Oreo can get carried away or “over threshold” with his excitement…but the key in our dynamic is that I know him.
I know his edges, I know how he processes change, and I know what he needs.
Oreo is the type of being who needs time to adapt to change. It’s not going to happen immediately— and if I give him the time and space— he will absolutely adapt. And once he settles— he will surprise me in how wonderfully he can show up.
A big part of being in relationship with our animal partners is to know them.
And the only way to truly know them is to go on journeys with them— spiritual, emotional, and even physical adventures.
Like any relationship, they are built overtime.
I believe that there is nuance in our animal relationships— it’s never one size fits all.
So every dog (in this case) requires something different.

At first, when Dreamer first lay down- I was in a bit of disbelief.
I’ve had my horses lie down in front of me before— but this felt different.
Moments prior to this— I had his head in my hands.
I had only just whispered “you are safe” in my mind to him.
I was working on a new energy technique with him…which required a little bit of song and dance to drop in together.
What I noticed as we were working through his layers is how much I’ve grown.
With Stevie’s injury and the puppies the truth is that my focus hasn’t been on Dreamer.
So he’s had a lot of space— to decompress, relax, play, live — and regenerate with proper nutrition.
This space has been good for both of us.
And yesterday- I could show up without any attachment or projection.
Sometimes our work with our horses feels like it moves at a snail pace.
But something deeper is happening beneath the surface.
I have a much more balanced and regulated system.
I mean it when I say to him— you are safe.
There is no charge or conditional love— im not asking of him.
I’m offering it to him with an open door.
And the transmission was clearly received differently.
He pulled his head up from my hands for a moment— stretched out his hind leg, and quickly dropped down to the ground in a delicate manner.
His deep dragon breaths told me something great was happening in his body.
And I felt it.
When he fully surrendered into rest I sat there with him crying.
The tears were an expression of my awe, gratitude, and disbelief.
No matter how much time you spend with your horses— to be with them when they are lying on the ground in deep sleep…it is so impactful.
They feel like dinosaurs. Mystical creatures.
There is something so raw and primal about them.
And yet so delicate.
They are so sensitive in the most beautiful way.
So I stayed with him…and I would close my eyes and receive images and words.
About our journey.
About the past.
About the future.
The love that i have for this horse.
It’s all encompassing in a spiritual type of way.
I know we are here together for a reason.
And I know that my energy, my aura, my system— is medicine for him too.
He is my teacher.
And with him, I never

When I strip it all away what I am left with is my words.
My truth.
Since I can remember, writing has been my oasis.
When I take the time to write it out— my experience, my inner feelings, my thoughts— I return to self. I find stillness.
The first time I felt that feeling of bliss— the closest way to describe it was channeled writing— in high school when we were given the afternoon to work on a lit paper.
I couldn’t get to the class computer fast enough— it felt as though sparks of fire were traveling through my finger tips.
I always loved literature classes because I loved the depth of the writing— the way it felt to uncover hidden messages, themes, symbolism & meaning.
Nothing was ever exactly as it seemed.
There was always more lurking beneath the surface.
When we can’t say it loud, we write it.
Whether it’s hidden in a diary, or shared in a public post on social media.
There is something so liberating about the process of writing.
The somatic work of our fingers moving— the visceral memory of letters and words from your fascia to the page or the screen.
Something happens.
Allowing the inner world to journey into the outer.

I have long felt the nudge to offer Retreats here at Three Spirit Ranch | 🐴🐶🦄 that are specifically about writing.
When I think back to my favourite moments in life— it was when I was out in the woods, surrounded by nature- writing. Whether I was working on a book or simply writing to write.
Writing with Horses is a retreat where we dive into your inner world— to offer a channel of expression that is held & supported by my horses, my dogs, the land, and myself.
It is quiet & spacious— a place that was designed for the creative process.
A place that holds you in a creative womb— protected and guided.
My land is very magical— there are many benevolent beings here to work with. Ones who can and will support you in telling your story.
The days will be a mixture of being with the herd, writing with the herd, taking time to yourself to write— and sharing/processing as you go.
I will guide you through writing practices that help to uncover and refine the story that you are ready to tell.
You don’t have to be working on a book.
Just a desire to write.

My land has been talking to me.
The past few days especially, I have found too many “messages” to miss.
Patterns.
The land is getting my attention.
My land has been talking out loud.
I’ve noticed a lot of signs around protection.
And I realised something profound tonight.
Our land is bordered by a creek bed.
Most often-this creek bed is dry.
But that doesn’t mean water doesn’t flow.
Beneath the layers of soil— things are happening.
This dry creek bed is a potent passage way for the wildlife of our land and area.
Coyotes, deer, fox, raccoons, possums, armadillo, tortoise.
All of these beings who cross the threshold— and act as guardians, messengers, watchers, protectors.
The illusion is to believe that a dry creek bed is lifeless.
Or that nothing is happening.
A lot is happening.
When I first walked this land, the first time I came here before we bought it— I felt them.
The watchers, the guardians, the protectors.
I realized tonight that the creek that surrounds us also acts as a line of protection.
It creates a physical and energetic separation.
I have always felt how deeply protected we are here.
And that energy has only grown over the years.
All of my animals act to enforce and heighten it.
The horses, the dogs, the cats.
In the dead of summer-it’s as if everything here comes alive.
I am feeling the pull to return to sacred ritual & traditions with the land.
To return a message of gratitude.
To acknowledge the gifts that I have crossed paths with lately.
The empty tortoise shell.
The cardinal feathers.
The crows.
Our land was once home to the Tonkawa people who were also known as “The People of the Wolf.”
How fitting to find myself surrounded now with my wolves.
Reading “wolf” pups with Mum & Dad.
I have my pack.
The girls are becoming closer to me everyday.
Something is stirring.
Something deep and magical.
The tortoise shell told me that my protection is in tact & I can release the old armor.
There is a completion here.
I feel myself being pulled into ceremony w/ the land.
To give thanks for its blessings.
I feel called to walk the dry creek bed.
Perhaps I will bring my wolf pups w/ me.
To walk the land once again.

For a long time I didn’t want to share the images of her leg. I didn’t want to have more people in fear. I didn’t want Stevie to feel any of the projections that folks might’ve had when they saw it. I wanted to protect her. I wanted to support her. I also didn’t want to expand the fear for myself. I can’t tell you exactly what it felt like to find her that morning in December, but I’m sure you can imagine. Nothing prepares you to find your horse like that. In so much pain. So much blood. In shock. You always like to think that you’d be prepared for anything. That you’d respond in the best way. But I froze. For a hot minute I froze l and felt completely overwhelmed with what to do first. I was already so afraid of the extent of the injury. Even though I only froze for a minute or less— I felt like I failed her. Why didn’t I immediately know what to do?

I also didn’t want to open myself up to everyone’s thoughts, advice, and feedback. Everyone has a different idea of what should be done and how it should be done. Everyone has an experience to share that relates to it.

These past few weeks have really shown me how tired I’ve been. How heavy this has been to walk through. I have very little gas in my tank. And my resources are still going to Stevie. As they should.

These past few weeks her leg almost reversed in the healing— which sounded the alarm bells to increase her care. It’s been too long. Something wasn’t right. So we’ve had the vet out 2-3 times a week for the past 3-4 weeks. And finally- after the bandage change yesterday… it feels like we are getting somewhere. She is healing. The swelling is coming down. The energetic inflammation is gone. It feels like I can breathe a little deeper.

Throughout this journey there have been moments where it’s felt like nothing is happening. The healing has stopped— and her leg would never heal. We’re not at the completion point yet— but we are closer than we ever have been. So I’ve been reflecting on the journey. Looking back at the images that I’ve taken at each bandage change. To see it with my own eyes. Stevie is healing.

Y’all have been there with us through this process.
