One of my favorite things is connecting people with resources that help them feel supported and empowered ✨

If you or someone you love has been impacted by cancer, consider joining Social Survivors with on June 18th. The event will include education on the lymphatic system and lymphedema, along with opportunities to connect with others who truly understand the survivorship experience. This talk will be given by Jenny Kell, OTR, CLT of (yay fellow OT!) 🙌🏽

I watched on the Today Show this morning and really loved something she shared:

1) One of the best things you can do for someone going through breast cancer is simply be there.

2) And if you’re someone who has also gone through breast cancer, to be mindful not to approach support from a “this is what I did, so you should too” perspective.

That advice really stuck with me because I hear from so many breast cancer survivors that they often feel ghosted by their loved ones during treatment 😔😕

And honestly… that part breaks my heart every time.

I think a lot of people want to help, but they don’t always know what to say or how to show up, so sometimes they unintentionally disappear. And going through treatment can already feel so isolating.

You don’t have to have the perfect words or all the answers. Sometimes just checking in, sitting with someone, listening, or reminding them they’re not alone means more than you realize ✨

Thanks to my week with them was filled with several firsts and “pinch me” moments 🥹

✅ Being flown out for my business (also internationally 🤯)
✅ Speaking on stage in front of 800 people 😮‍💨
✅ Going on a solo trip 🙇🏽‍♀️
✅ Visiting Mexico 🇲🇽

I was personally invited to share my story and talk about my business with the CEO of Jane App, Ali, and 800 members (😲) of the Jane Team (who adoringly call themselves Janers) at their annual retreat. They gave me the opportunity to share how I got started, educate on the community I serve, and how I run my practice as a solopreneur. I was able to share specifically how the services they offer are used on a daily basis and express my gratitude for each of their roles in helping me run my business.

During that time, I was met with so much love and support that truly gave me the extra boost I needed. To be REALLY seen and poured into by so many lovely clinicians and Janers was energizing in a way I’ve never experienced before. I also do not take for granted every interaction I had with someone who knows someone who personally went through breast cancer, or went through it themselves. I hold that very close and dear to me. I don’t take that trust lightly.

I have so much gratitude for every person who greeted me, wished me well, sat to share a meal with me, talked to me in the pool, and stopped to give me a hug. I carry that all with me.

Thank you for all the love this week and for supporting my small business every single day. I can confidently say this business is truly a WE because every single one of y’all are in it with me 🩵 Thank you 🫶🏽✨

I lost a patient today. And it’s sitting with me.

In this work, my patients are never just patients… they’re people I care for, and people I care about.

I get to walk with them through the wins, the setbacks, the hard days…and that kind of connection doesn’t just turn off.

So when there’s a loss, the grief is real.

It’s hard to even put into words, but I just feel really grateful. Grateful that I got to know her, to support her, and to be a small part of her journey.

I’ll be holding her close in my heart today 🤍

Lymphatic education AND free feet pics… don’t say I never did anything for you 😂🤭

Sharing this because I tell my patients this ALL THE TIME: long drives, flights, sitting all day (WFH girlies 👀) = your legs NEED support → compression socks 🧦

I won’t tell you to do something I wouldn’t do myself 😗

So yes… compression is ON for this long road trip 🙌🏽

What I’m wearing: .motion Knee-High Compression Socks (8–15 mmHg). This is a good compression grade for someone without any swelling challenges 😉

Unpaid and STILL the most reliable employee (well…ONLY employee 😅)

Jokes aside….A LOT of what goes into this business happens behind the scenes, and I’m so grateful for the support of my husband who helps bring it all together 🥰🫶🏽

With that said- I have a new electric table 🙌🏽
