Professional development is crucial in my line of work. To refine my skills as a Death Doula focusing on expected deaths, I am attending the Medical Examiner's Citizens Academy, which handles unexpected deaths such as homicides, suicides, and overdoses. This week's autopsy attendance will stretch me to venture beyond my comfort zone. I am grateful to the deceased one who will give the gift of education to all present at the autopsy.
