Caring for a loved one with memory loss can be rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming. That's why The Ganzhorn Suites invites caregivers to join our Memory Loss Empowerment Group on Tuesday, August 11, from 6:00–7:00 p.m.

🍦 Ice cream cones with sprinkles... life can be pretty sweet!

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a cool treat, and our residents were more than happy to celebrate with delicious ice cream cones while listening to classic soda shop tunes. There were smiles all around—and let's just say a few residents enjoyed a second cone... and even started asking about a third! 😄🍨

Sometimes it's the simple moments that bring the biggest smiles. Sharing a sweet treat and classic music made for a perfect summer afternoon at Ganzhorn Suites.☀️

🌸 Our raised gardens are in full bloom, and we couldn't be more excited!

Back in mid-June, our residents and team members gathered for a planting party, rolling up their sleeves and adding beautiful flowers to our raised garden beds. Just a few weeks later, the results are in! The gardens are lush, colorful, and bursting with growth.

Our residents have loved watching their hard work grow, and it's safe to say our green thumbs really did the trick! 🌼

Gardening is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors and take pride in something that continues to brighten our community each day.🌺

Some moments come full circle in the most meaningful ways.

Back in 2017, The Ganzhorn Suites and our incredible founder, Eleanor A., were featured in Maria Shriver's Sunday Paper, highlighting the vision and heart behind our community.

Recently, one of our team members attended the Global Women's Health Forum, where Maria Shriver was a featured speaker. They brought along a copy of the publication and were thrilled to have Maria personally autograph it.

To make the moment even more special, the signed copy was presented to Eleanor as a surprise gift in honor of The Ganzhorn Suites of Avon's fifth anniversary.

It was a touching reminder of how far our community has come and a wonderful way to celebrate the leadership, compassion, and vision that continue to inspire everything we do. Happy Anniversary, Ganzhorn Suites of Avon—and thank you, Eleanor, for creating a place that has touched so many lives!

🎉 Happy 5th Anniversary to The Ganzhorn Suites of Avon!

What a wonderful milestone to celebrate! Although the weather moved our anniversary cookout indoors, it certainly didn't dampen the excitement. Our community was filled with festive decorations, smiling faces, and a warm party atmosphere as residents, families, and team members came together to celebrate five incredible years.

Residents added a special personal touch by creating beautiful patriotic wreaths that were displayed throughout the community, and we kicked off the festivities by singing along to some favorite patriotic songs—our residents always know how to fill the room with joyful music!

One of the most meaningful parts of the celebration was a series of captivating displays honoring our journey. Photo collages paired pictures of residents from their younger years with current photos, celebrating the remarkable lives and stories that make our community so special. We also shared a heartfelt "In Loving Memory" display, honoring those who have touched our lives and will always remain part of the Ganzhorn Suites family.

Thank you to everyone—past and present residents, families, and staff—who has helped make these first five years so meaningful. Here's to many more years of friendship, laughter, and celebrating life together!

At The Ganzhorn Suites, music therapy is an important part of our memory care program. Led by a board-certified music therapist, each session is thoughtfully designed to support cognitive function, encourage social engagement, and enhance quality of life for residents living with dementia. It's one more way we help every resident experience moments of joy, purpose, and connection each day.

What an incredible evening! 💜

Our Power of the Purse: Purse Bingo fundraiser was a tremendous success, raising more than $5,000 for the Alzheimer's Association in support of Alzheimer's care, research, and advocacy. We were honored to bring our community together for an evening filled with fun, friendship, and purpose. The event featured bingo, beautiful designer purses, appetizers, raffles, door prizes, and more—all benefiting an important cause.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and sponsored the event. Your generosity and support will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, as well as their families.

A little island getaway came to life at The Ganzhorn Suites! 🌴☀️

Thanks to the generosity and creativity of one of our amazing family members, residents enjoyed a tropical celebration filled with music, delicious food, and plenty of smiles. Working alongside our Enrichment and Nutrition teams, she helped plan every detail—from the festive décor and party favors to the island-inspired menu and entertainment.

Residents were treated to live music from Island Troy while enjoying pork sliders, key lime dessert, orange fluff, and a refreshing specialty punch. To make the day even more beautiful, another thoughtful family donated fresh flowers that perfectly complemented our "Island Escape" theme.

We are so grateful for families who partner with us to create meaningful experiences and joyful moments for our residents. Thank you for helping make The Ganzhorn Suites feel like home—where community, connection, and celebration are always in season. 💙🌺
