Seven years ago today, I was in the two-week wait after our embryo transfer.
We had just come out of a rematch and miscarriage with our prior surrogate. We had done everything right, checked every box, and there was nothing left to do but wait and hope.
As intended parents, we are asked to give up control constantly throughout this journey. The two-week wait is just the most concentrated version of that. No amount of Googling or symptom-tracking changes what is already happening.
My daughter turns 7 this year. Letting go was the hardest thing I have ever done. And it gave me everything. 🖤
If you are in a wait right now, of any kind, I am thinking of you. What has helped you surrender control during the hard parts of this journey?
