Our relationship with plants has never been separate from our relationship with ourselves, our communities, or the places we call home.

Across cultures and generations, plants have been used not only as medicine, but as teachers, companions, ceremonial allies, and ways of making meaning.

Yet much of modern mental health has been shaped around separation: mind from body, individual from community, human from nature.

Plant medicine invites a different conversation.
One that asks us to consider healing in a wider context. To listen to the body. To pay attention to relationship. To honour culture and lineage. To ask what our symptoms might be communicating, rather than only how quickly we can make them disappear.

This doesn’t mean romanticising plants or treating psychedelic experiences as a shortcut to transformation. These medicines can be powerful, and working with them calls for care, preparation, discernment, cultural humility, and integration.

If we want healing that reaches beyond the individual and into the collective, we need to widen the frame of what healing can be.

And that’s where Nature has so much to teach us 🌹✨️

The journey doesn’t end with the experience - how you integrate makes all the difference.

Your journey remains your own. There is no expectation to share, perform, or move at anyone else’s pace. You are simply invited into a carefully facilitated space where you can turn inward while being accompanied by others who are tending to their own process.

Over the course of one held afternoon, there is room to slow down, listen more deeply, and experience what it can feel like to be supported in community.

Led by Erin Atkinson ✨️ Erin Atkinson

🌀 If you’re curious about whether this experience is right for you, reach out to [email protected]. We’re happy to share more about the process, the medicine, and what to consider when deciding whether this is the right season for you.

Insurance is accepted for a portion of the experience to help make this offering more accessible.

The plants have so much to teach us here, modeling and inviting us into what reciprocal, safe, connected relationship can look like. They’ve been practicing this far longer than we have 🌿✨️

Prism Wellness was founded as a sanctuary where practitioners weave a rich tapestry of holistic offerings to serve spiritual exploration, authentic expression, and profound healing for individuals and the collective.

We bridge the worlds of clinical psychotherapy and psychedelic exploration to guide soul-deep transformation by integrating evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and somatic psychotherapy with the wisdom of ancestral practices, nervous system regulation, and earth-based spirituality.

This multidimensional approach allows us to meet each client where they are, honoring both science and soul in the healing process.

The research around psychedelic-assisted therapies is growing, with promising findings in several areas of mental health. But the evidence is nuanced, the field is still developing, and outcomes depend on far more than the substance itself.

The therapeutic context matters.

The biggest mistake we see people make when approaching psychedelic work?

Treating the experience as the destination.

There can be an understandable fascination with what happens during a psychedelic journey: the visions, insights, emotions, revelations, sense of connection, or profound shifts in perspective.

But the real question begins afterward.

~ What does this mean for your life?

~ What changes when you return to your ordinary Tuesday?

~ How do you relate differently to yourself?

~ What patterns are asking to be understood?

~ What needs tending rather than rushing past?

An experience can open something, but integration is where you begin learning how to live in relationship with what opened. That is why psychedelic-assisted therapy is not simply about the psychedelic experience.

It is about the relationship between the experience, the therapeutic process, and the life you return to.

On September 14, the FDA is holding a public hearing on the future therapeutic use of psychedelic drugs in supervised settings, and the questions on the table are ones that will shape what this work actually looks like once approvals arrive.

Who is qualified to sit with someone through a session, what training and credentialing will be required, how safety is held, and who can access these healing modalities.

Prism founder Erin Atkinson Erin Atkinson will be in Silver Spring giving oral comment on provider training and access. Most of the field's readiness conversation right now is organized around the dosing session itself, which leaves relationship, preparation, and integration, where so much of the real work lives, almost entirely out.

The written docket is open to anyone through October 5, and the FDA has stated that selection to present is not a prerequisite for having your views considered.

If you have sat with people through preparation, through a session, and through the continued integration afterward, you have something valuable to share. So do the people who have moved through this care themselves and can describe what they went through to get there. Whatever the FDA ends up hearing, it should include the views from community rooms, from practitioners doing this work week to week, and from the people who received this care.

Docket FDA-2026-N-7542 at regulations.gov. The FDA is asking about four things specifically: provider training and credentialing, patient safety, access, and how data gets collected.

Comments are posted publicly and permanently, including your name if you include it, so write with that in mind.
