A huge congratulations to our Chief EP Fellow Dr. Nestor Vasquez for presenting at ! 🏆
He presented a first-of-its-kind case: a patient who developed life-threatening ventricular fibrillation storms just two weeks after a heart transplant — and was successfully treated with a emergent Purkinje denetworking on ECMO. Patient is doing well 1 year later!
Cases like this remind me why complex electrophysiology matters. When everything else fails, the right procedure — done at the right time — can save a life.So proud of this team. 🫀

So proud of my mentee Marianna Da Fonseca presenting at EHRA 2026! 🎉

She presented a fascinating and challenging case — a patient with a rare congenital heart condition (ccTGA) who had THREE different irregular heart rhythm circuits all firing at once.
Three separate ablation procedures. Done in one sitting. Sinus rhythm restored. One year later — she’s off all medications and doing remarkably well.
This is what ACHD electrophysiology looks like at its most complex — and why meticulous planning and deep anatomical knowledge matter.
